Rudy attacks Bill Clinton: "Bin Laden declared war on us. We didn't hear it."

Giuliani went after Bubba during a speech at religious broadcaster Pat Robertson's Regent University in Virginia Beach and later while addressing the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington, D.C.

He said Clinton didn't aggressively respond to the 1993 World Trade Center attack, or to subsequent atrocities by Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda before 9/11. Giuliani singled out the bombings of Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia in 1996 and the USS Cole in Yemen in 2000.

"The United States government - then President Clinton - did not respond," Giuliani said. "Bin Laden declared war on us. We didn't hear it."

Giuliani said that calls by the Democratic presidential candidates to withdraw from Iraq will embolden terrorists.

"I think they are in denial. They can't face this threat. They couldn't in the 1990s," Giuliani said.

"The idea of trying to cast blame on President Clinton is just wrong for many, many reasons, not the least of which is I don't think he deserves it," Giuliani said during a stop in Florida. "I don't think President Bush deserves it. The people who deserve blame for Sept. 11, I think we should remind ourselves, are the terrorists — the Islamic fanatics — who came here and killed us and want to come here again and do it."

So if Clinton who bombed bases, formed a strong anti-terrorism task force that made constant reports to him, arrested and prosecuted (wow what a concept) the 1993 bombers and was out of office too soon to respond to the Cole attack is a do nothing President. What's Giuliani? A guy that put his command center in the same buildings that got attack before, ignored requests to get his police and fire department on the same radios and wants to attack countries that were not sources of the 9/11 attack? Couple that with Shrub doing NOTHING but go on vacation, and then the "crowning glory" that Christie Tood Whitman announced the other day. "During the Anthrax attacks, we at the EPA were told the Mayor didn't want our guys going into those buildings wearing hasmat suits because he didn't want people viewing the City as unsafe and a bad place to live!" I hope Rudy puts THAT little tidbit in his bragging hat on terrorism!
