SCOTUS today is a perfect example of why life time appointments should be disallowed.

On the other hand, there were as many democrats who rolled over and put their posteriors in the air for Roberts because he "seemed nice enough", that we deserve what we have; a divided court that reliably favors oligarchical and plutocratic interests over upholding the rights of individuals.
