1. We can resurrect the red herring of immigration, but Iraq time tables?
Nah.

Just ignore those dying on a daily basis and pay attention to this non-issue.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Signed,

Your Leaders

2. No trouble blocking organized labor
Immigration sure but wouldn't want those newly minted workers organizing now would we.

Senate Republicans block union bill
GOP lawmakers stall key legislation sought by labor that would ease efforts to organize workers.
By Joel Havemann, Times Staff Writer
June 27, 2007

WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans on Tuesday blocked organized labor's top legislative priority this year — a bill designed to make it easier for unions to organize workers at nonunion workplaces.

4. I don't want a new ID.
I don't want one that proves I'm not a terrorist and keeps Bush happy. And I don't want one to prove I am "legal" and keeps the Freepers happy.

5. NOW the Rs bring up voting obn bills w/o reading them. Remember the Patriot Act?
This is certainly a huge problem... not even reading legislation before voting.

10. And this is what bothers me The Most about this bill. I am getting the same BS
alert as I had with the Patriot Act. God knows what they're stuffing in there. The biometrics disturb me too. This is opening up the can of worms that every one in the US is going to eventually have to have them. Welcome to 1984.

8. NY TIMES: Immigration Bill Clears Test Vote in Senate
Immigration Bill Clears Test Vote in Senate
By DAVID STOUT and ROBERT PEAR
Published: June 26, 2007
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/26/washington/26cnd-immig.html

WASHINGTON, June 26 — A bill to overhaul the immigration system, all but given up for dead two weeks ago, cleared a crucial test vote in the Senate today, bolstering its chances for passage by the Senate within days.

The senators voted, 64 to 35, to invoke cloture, or move to consideration of the bill itself. Since 60 votes are required for cloture, and only 45 voted for cloture two weeks ago, the measure’s supporters were heartened by today’s vote. Had the cloture vote failed today, the bill would have been dead for the foreseeable future.

The Senate’s next step is to consider a batch of amendments, some designed to be easier on illegal immigrants, some meant to be tougher. The amendments’ differing intentions underline the fragility of the coalition behind the bill.

Another make-or-break cloture vote could come before this weekend, and it is by no means certain that those who voted for cloture today will vote for the bill itself. ........................

13. Amnesty for cheap labor employers PLUS a huge increase in non-immigrant alien workers.
The traffickers in human labor must have sticky boxer shorts over this abomination of legislation.

16. Sessions is boring, talking about getting re-elected
And, he does not read very well either.

"The Terrorist Assistance and Facilitation Act of 2007" is what he is calling this.
He actually makes a good point about getting false identities established.
