So why are there reported power outages in NYC?? Hmmmm....
I keep thinking that it is about time for another terrorist plot to be broken up.

6. Precisely.
Happens on many hot days because the power being drawn is in excess of what the grid is designed for, and it pops one of the power company's breakers.

5. Local news reports is was a lightning strike in
Queens. Blackouts happen often in NYC in the summer - ConEd apparently doesn't do a very good job of maintaining the power grid.

Subways and commuter rail totally screwed up for the night. yuck!
