One day I was driving home from work, nice leisurely drive through the suburb, traffic was heavy and I was letting people into traffic from the parking lots.
I was driving with my windows down something I don't do very often but it was a nice day. I was so laid back that I accidentally cut off a police car, he pulled up next to me at the next light and said to be careful, I replied, that it was a stupid move. The cop turned and went on.
By the next stop light, I had let a couple more cars in. When I got stopped at the light, this guy in this big land rover behind me starts laying on his horn.
Then he gets out and comes up to the car, reaches in and is going to teach me a lesson.

I reached over and pushed the button rolling up the window. Then I asked him who was getting the lesson now. I sat there until the light turned green, then I started to creep forward. He was freaked out.

Where is a cop when you need one?

rather than egging the other driver on, the guy in the bmw should have just driven on his merry way, and if the guy in the truck persists- go to a police station, or flag a cop down- but the asshole in the beimer couldn't do that- because he was probably carrying the gun in his car illegally

btw- no judge on this planet is going to call it "self-defense" if you pull your car over and pull a gun on another driver just because you don't like the way that you're being followed- and when you top it off with armed robbery- you'd probably be doing some time.

We live in a country with people who actually act like this, and that's scary. Knives won't help your ass when you're dealing with farmer john after he's had a couple of drinks and feels like going out and killing a couple of people.

This was back when my brother had shoulder length blue hair, and we live in Texas. That was enough to almost get him killed. Maybe you live somewhere more civilized than we do, but stuff like this does happen.

And it's a good reason to consider carrying a firearm. Women get raped all the time, gay people get beaten and killed all the time. You've got to be ware of that reality, even though each year it affects relatively few people.
