You should not publicize this stuff. You are supposed to just let the republican party and christians do away with our constitution. Why do you hate America? I'm trashed often because I think christians suck and say so. They want to take away my constitutional liberties. I'm too vested in America to let that happen.

My dad spent 23 years in the Air Force, first husband 10 years in the Navy. I think both of them would agree with your sig line. I know I do! Sane christians recognize the difference between religion and politics. I love my god and I love my country, but I don't believe god loves America best.

Whether you like it or not, you spent 24 years in uniform defending the Bible. And the Torah, the Koran, the collected essays of Thomas Paine, Ayn Rand novels, journalism, Farah Fawcett posters, free elections, backyard bbqs, and so on. Anything part of the free lives of American citizens you spent 24 years defending. You can't separate out the things you don't like and say they aren't covered.

can claim that Christianity can be hijacked, in one breath, and then claim that Christianity is true faith, in the next. It isn't a paradox it's self-deception; if you ask me. But I'm not a member of any official religion.

Substitute the extreme politicization with those that claim to speak for the will of God, and use the name of Jesus Christ (as well as pre-existing organized religious bodies to advance their own agendas)-then mix the politicization back in and call it God's will (which it isn't) and beam it through the propaganda machine and captive media.

Those kinds of things are upsetting, to say the least, when the messages are nothing but lies from people claiming their lies came from God, lies that sanction evil. That is a modus operandi of the BFEE as it was in the Third Reich and the Roman Empire and throughout all recorded human history.

Surely there are more than just a few Christians here at DU that aren't intimidated by the biases of others and that work against the same political enemies and for many of the same causes as nonbelievers here at DU.

Speak up, what do you have as an example of the darkside trying to claim it is light and using Jesus Christ's name and Christianity as its base of operations?
