That, and the graphic on the right counting down to the Paris Hilton interview, sums up the American mainstream media.

Is it any wonder Bush is still polling at 26% when he ought to be polling at about 0.00001%?

Until the people take the power back from the corporations, nothing will ever change. This is despicable. Like global warming, there is no debate here. I recall a thread where there was a flamewar about whether or not America has become a fascist state. I don't have any doubt about it. This is fascism at its core. Keep the people ignorant. Power to the corporations.

If CNN had been around 60 years ago we'd probably had questions like these:

Hitler was he really that bad? We'll have experts debate this.

They've misread the mood of the US public as a strong lurch to the right and they couldn't be more mistaken. They honestly think a rotten economy and being bogged down in another Vietnam is making people turn to church and traditional, bigoted values.

Woops.

I guess they haven't been following polling trends, have they?

Ted Turner will be able to pick it back up for a song when this bunch gets done with it. It'll be at a fire sale price.
