Didja ever notice all the vehicles in the background when they show the monkey on the WH lawn?
There are Big Black Chevy Suburbans, various and sundry ambulances, fire trucks, and other various and sundry emergency vehicles visible, sometimes nearly in the foreground of the shot. Whenever we see Himself walking to Marine One, he seems to pass an endless and ever-changing array of such vehicles.

I don't recall ever seeing so many 'emergency' and 'security' symbols so clear in the video or film of any previous president.

Is this real? Necessary? Or just another form of subtle intimidation of We the Sheeple?

6. Maybe part of it is bunker mentality.
His handlers cannot help but know how universally the treasonous bastard is reviled.

8. At least some have always been there
Bush is definitely making more and more use of them though.

There's a few standards - a few trucks full of Secret Service (which I can understand), an ambulance (which I can understand) with a few units of the president's blood type (which I can understand), etc. I saw those when Clinton was here in Nova Scotia; it's just part of the office. Half a dozen or so vehicles, maybe some local PD.

When Rice was here last September (to finally thank the locals for hosting thirty thousand stranded Americans for several days in 2001), though, her personal convoy - not including the local PD bikes fore and aft of the formation - had at least thirty or forty vehicles, including I think fifteen or sixteen Secret Service SUVs. Took several minutes to go by because of the spacing and the amount of escorts. The entire G-7 parade had fewer vehicles.

I was just sitting there (they halted all traffic for the convoy), thinking, "and this is just a cabinet secretary in a medium-sized city of an allied country, showing up specifically to suck up to the locals, and we're treated as that big a threat? Come on."

Absolutely the only sign of a guilty conscience we'll ever get.

11. That's all fine when he's away from Dictatorship Central
I'm talking about on the lawn of the White House. That's where he is on a regular basis. If these apparatuses are really necessary, they can be staged more subtly if they wanted to. They could also build some 'bunker' for them right there on the grounds so they're seconds away yet out of sight.

Nope .... I think this whole thing is purposefully staged.

12. I agree. Purposefully staged. Hitler was pathologically afraid of assassins, too
Like Bushler. Fear and intimidation is all these petty cowardly tyrants have to sell.

13. Potemkin firetrucks?
Yeah, I could see it happening. His paranoia combined with the real threat of everyone hating him (sorry, backwash, you're in the minority now) could make this a very prudent move.
