SICKO - 89% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/sicko/

For those of you not familiar with Rotten Tomatoes, it is a "meta-review" site. They compile movie reviews (and reviews of computer games and DVD releases) and compile them into a "freshness rating." If 60% or more of the reviews are good it is a "fresh tomato;" otherwise it is a "rotten tomato." I find it a great site because it is not just one reviewer's opinion.

Also, it lets you look up movie times and locations. :hi:

1. Of course Michael Moore's latest would get high ratings over there.

Tomatoes are, after all, are red.

Damned Pinkos!

2. You mean Michael Moore?
Michael makes documentaries.

Roger made B-grade Bond movies. ;-)

3. Thanks. I corrected it. It's so confusing without that second cup
of coffee. "ROGER and Me" by MICHAEL Moore.

Off to the coffee pot for the second cup.

4. Wapo review was not that great
They gave it a mediocre to poor review this AM.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think we can agree on two things: The American health-care system is busted and Michael Moore is not the guy to fix it. His "Sicko," an investigation and indictment of a system choking on paperwork, greed, bad policy and countervailing goals, turns out to be a fuzzy, toothless collection of anecdotes, a few stunts and a bromide-rich conclusion.

5. While switching over to the weather channel this AM I saw on
CNN Dr Sanjay Gupta talking about it - taking the proper corporate line, of course. With socialized medicine, the medical care is not free, you pay for it in high taxes, yadda yadda. Of course, not mentioning that nobody gets turned away because of lack of insurance.

6. Of course, we all know that everything the WP writes is correct
See the movie. The reviewer evidently didn't.

"Fuzzy, toothless collection of anecdotes"? Please. The movie's powerful and will stay with you long after you walk out of the theater.

7. That is one of the reasons I like this site
Especially with movies like Sicko, the "averaging" of reviews helps balance out bias.

8. They were lucky to find a theater to see it at, only 440 screens nation-wide...
