Expected but Disappointing Reply from Representative DeGette

Diana DeGette is my Representative (Colorado District 1 - Denver, basically), and in general I'm hapy with her. However, this is her response to my letter urging impeachment of Bush and Cheney.

Dear Mr. Dvorkin :

Thank you for contacting me to express your support for impeaching President George W. Bush and Vice-President Richard B. Cheney . I am pleased to learn your views and appreciate the opportunity to share mine.

Like you, I have been opposed to and concerned by many of the actions of this Administration. For example, I voted against the resolution giving President Bush the authority to send troops to Iraq and remain opposed to the war. I voted in favor of legislation to set a date certain for the end of our military involvement in Iraq . I also opposed the National Security Agency's (NSA) warrantless eavesdropping program and have repeatedly requested an investigation.

The Democratic leadership has said that impeachment will not be considered in the 110 th Congress. Rest assured, however, that the new Democratic majority in the 110 th Congress will conduct vigorous oversight to monitor the actions of this Administration and make sure it is following the law.

Christ, it just keeps getting worse and worse.

But I guess she gets to define what that means.
