2. It is recycled

from the VN War and every other war we have been in. So is the 'we will win in 6 weeks',
'our troops are superior to theirs'. If you don't believe me see Gone with the Wind again or read some of the news run ups to any war. Any time I see that claptrap...I know we are screwed.

6. Hurting the troops: What I know from personal experince

Troops are more hurt when they see America ignoring them as has been the case in Iraq for 4(!) years. Troops can see that most members of congress and the president are more interested in gaining position/power/getting reelected than actually making a difficult move.

The Super Bowl and American Idol get more coverage than guys bleeding to death in a desert which has been drenched in blood for 5000 years...

7. Liberman has got some nerve...

he said at the hearing today that,he would appreciate it if his colleagues would not criticize the escalation because it would hurt the troops...So I guess there is no need for a hearing and all who disagree with him should shut up...
