Not a PEEP from Scarborough/Ridley about Live Earth or apology to GORE
The tendentious and obtuse RIDLEY went on and on last week about young GORE's problem, or rather lecturing Al GORE, saying that he BETTER NOT show up at his own event because he should spend all his time with his son instead.

The airheads SCARBOROUGH and RIDLEY have plenty of time to talk hair products, but ZERO mention of the astounding success of Live Earth.

2. I tried to watch this a.m. then Joe was about to embark on some
smarmy nasty remark about Mama Cass. Mika shut him down immediately. Why Joe in the a.m.??? Why? As to Ridley, I turn the show off before he gets any real traction with me. What a waste of air time. Let Mika have the show on her own...

3. Great minds: That's what I said in my e-mail (about Mika)
(The whole e-mail: )

Where's the apology to Al GORE from the tendentious and obtuse RIDLEY and all of you blowhards (except Mika, who is WASTED on you)? Dan ABRAMS knows how to screw up.

"Hey You" (music & lyrics, Madonna)

Hey You
Don’t you give up
It’s not so bad
There’s still a chance for us

Hey You
Just be yourself
Don’t be so shy
There’s reasons why it’s hard

Keep it together
You’ll make it all right
Our celebration is going on tonight
Poets and prophets … what ending would we do?
This could be good … hey you

Hey you
Open your heart
It’s not so strange
You’ve got to change … this time

Hey you
Remember this
None of it’s real … including the way you feel

Keep it together
You’ll make it all right
Our celebration is going on tonight
Poets and prophets … what ending would we do?
This could be good … hey you

Save your soul, little sister
Save your soul, little brother

Hey you
Save yourself
Don’t rely on anyone else

First, love yourself
Then, you can love someone else
Then, you can change someone else
Then, you have saved someone else

But, you must first love yourself
Then, you can love someone else
Then, you can change someone else
If you can change someone else
Then, you have saved someone else
But, you must first …

Hey you
There on the fence
You’ve got a choice
One day … it will make sense

Hey you
First, love yourself
And, if you can’t
Try to love someone else

Keep it together
You’ll make it all right
Our celebration is going on tonight
Poets and prophets … what ending would we do?
This could be good … hey you

First, love yourself
Then, you can love someone else
Then, you can change someone else
Then, you have saved someone else

But, you must first love yourself
Then, you can love someone else
Then, you can change someone else
If you can change someone else
Then, you have saved someone else
But, you must first…

5. Ridley lost all credibility/if he had any
Who is he anyway? Listed as a "screenwriter". Isn't it amazing that the corporate media just decides to make certain people out as "political experts" on political shows. They just one day show up on these shows and spew "outlandish" opinions by taking on whatever role they've been given (much of it seeming forced and unnatural only to garner attention and rise above all of the cluttered media sources). When Ridley went into his non-sensical rant about Gore needing to drop his live earth responsibilites immediately to run to his 24 year old son's aid (who was not injured or in an immediate life threatening situation) that was enough for me. Of course, bottom line is that any populist politician who challenges the corporate culture in America (this cycle it seems to be Gore and Edwards) will be taken down by their mainstream media masters.

4. MS vs NBC
You'd think the MS part would want Joe to be spouting on about the
humungous success of Live Earth (and drive people to their site to watch all the vids)
But the NBC part (meaning GE) certainly does not want any attention on global warming
(i don't buy their "eco-imagination" ads one bit...no action - just cutesy animaltronics)

NBC (MS or otherwise) has and always will pursue GE's interests first.

6. Whoa!!1 RIDLEY just did a CAMPY homophobic impression of a "Gay"!!1
SCARBOROUGH had gone on about not having a place to stow belongings between flights, and then said he just got an e-mail offering him space in a studio apartment. Then RIDLEY went into an arm curling and lisping routine.

This RIDLEY dude is labelled "Screenwriter" and writes for the Huffington Post. The standards for achieving "success" are certainly slipping.

9. RIDLEY's Wikipedia entry

John Ridley
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Ridley is an American film director, actor, and writer.

Ridley got his start as a stand-up comedian. He eventually was hired as a writer for sitcoms such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Martin. He began to concentrate on writing and wrote his first novel Stray Dogs which became the basis the 1997 film U-Turn, directed by Oliver Stone. Ridley also provided the original script for the film Three Kings, starring George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg and Ice Cube. But his script was changed so much by director David O. Russell that he only received a credit for the original story. He also tried his hand at directing with the film Cold Around the Heart.

He is one of the creators of Urban Entertainment, showcasing short films and animation from minority filmmakers, including his own works: the animated cartoons Undercover Brother (the basis for the film starring comedian Eddie Griffin) and Those Who Walk in Darkness, featuring the voice of rapper Lil' Kim — which itself was the basis of a novel of the same name written by Ridley.

Ridley is a regular panelist on the MSNBC daily morning show Morning Joe, and an occasional guest on the network's nightly program Scarborough Country. He hosted the short-lived Movie Club With John Ridley on American Movie Classics and has written The Authority and The American Way for DC Comics. He has recently become a regular guest commentator on American Public Media's Weekend America in a segment called "Good News, Bad News, No News" which reviews the week's news. He co-produced the film Bobby. He wrote the play Ten Thousand Years about kamikaze pilots in World War II. On the weekend of August 19, 2006, John co-hosted the syndicated program Ebert & Roeper while film critic Roger Ebert was on medical leave.

8. Ridley is a big disappointment
sometimes I'm not sure if he's being snarky or actually believes the crap he's spewing-another guy who wants to stay in Iraq forever I guess because if we leave things will get worse.
