Passing The Message Of Live Earth On
MSN was passing out packets of "seeds for change" at the Live Earth concert at Giants Stadium this past Saturday so I made sure to get a whole bunch of packets which must have numbered about twenty. Today I went out and talked to people and distributed every packet and asked them to plant those seeds for a better planet in fighting the climate crisis and where to go to sign the Live Earth pledge. I got a good response, with about half of the people telling me they watched Live Earth and thought it was a good start to the three year plan of The Aliance for Climate Protection to get this message out to inspire people to demand change and bring it about by their own actions. Even on my job we have now instituted a sustainable plan for saving energy and everyone also got a packet of seeds and a wrist band. So I have been busy today. ;-) And it will continue tomorrow, because it must.

So hopefully I reached many more people today in spreading this message of hope, because I refuse to sit and think of this as doom and gloom because if I do nothing will be accomplished. The entire message behind Live Earth was not just to listen to the music and then go on our way. It was meant to begin a three year plan that does not just include Al Gore and The Alliance for Climate Protection. It includes ALL OF US and our children spreading the message and living it. This is also my way to tell the naysayers who believe this had no effect that they are wrong, because the more people who get this message the greater the chance of progress being made on all levels. As Al Gore has stated, we are not even close to where we need to be, so I see no other way to support our planet and him right now than to be a climate messenger to help us get there.

I also live in a state that has now just passed and signed one of the most comprehensive global warming bills in our country. I live in a town with a Mayor who has signed the Mayors' pledge to reduce Co2 emissions. And I firmly believe it is in part because of people including myself writing LTE and to them demanding that action be taken on this crisis before it is too late.

We do have the power and the seeds to make great change.

Live Earth was only the starting point.

It's now time to take it up a notch.

2. Thanks, this is important
I simply cannot let my son down. To have looked in his eyes on Saturday and to see the hope he had in them when he left the concert only inspired me more. Our children deserve better than what we have given them up to this point.

however watching it on Bravo and posting on it was cool, and I'm thankful the younger generation such as your son were inspired. We just need to keep the momentum up and there may hope, for us saving us from ourselves.

6. K & R
Good job, RG. You certainly walk the talk. I talked with people today who had no idea that LIVE EARTH even happened. I talked to them about it and gave them some highlights - maybe it would have helped if I had had something to hand them too. Not sure. Showing my passion about it would have been a turn off to them I felt as there really wasn't a response of any kind when I mentioned the climate crisis. No response when I said that 2 billion people participated around the globe. These were acquaintances that I am working with temporarily and we get along and I know they like me. It just was a tough room, tough day.

I have sent emails around re the website and the pledge - trying to think out what my next step will be as I am not going to just sit back and do nothing.
