I Wanted Them To Walk In There And Impeach The Bastard
When I voted last November I wanted my Democrats to march into Congress and impeach the bastards. I wanted them to stop the domestic spying. I wanted them to get us the hell our of Iraq. There was the national health care disgrace to be dealt with and I wanted prison reform and something done about the god dam mess we call public education in this country. This is the Congress I voted for.

I did not vote for excuses. I did not vote for wimpy-ass Democrats to stand idly by while absolutely nothing changed.

So what in hell happened?

3. Politics 101: When our representatives salaries are a mere fraction of what it costs to
get them elected they are entirely beholdened to corporate interests and we are left totally bereft of representative leadership and democracy is dead.

For the most part, they don't care.

Don't even get me started about our voting technology, or the media or the rest of the muck.

We'll get through this though, with forces like this on the planet. . .

4. What happened is that this is still a Democracy!
When the Congress was voted in it was not given dictatorial powers to remove Bush and bring the troops home. Congress is still only one branch of government. There are rules and laws that it must adhere to.

And remember they one have a one vote majority in the Senate with Joe Lieberman holding a gun to Harry Reid's head, threatening to go over to the GOP, should the Senate vote for a troop withdrawal.

5. Unfortunately, 202 (R) remain in the House and 49 (R) in the Senate.
