Please write a letter defending Michael Moore.

CNN's Sanjay Gupta claimed that Michael Moore's movie, "SiCKO," was full of factual inaccuracies. He pointed out a number of examples. In each and every case, Gupta was wrong, and Moore was right. You can read Moore's rebuttal here:

Here's the note I wrote to Gupta:

You falsely accused Michael Moore of "fudging the facts." He didn't fudge the facts. You did. You owe him an apology.

His film could inspire people to create a better America, with better health care for everyone. He got the facts right; you didn't; you owe the American people an apology.

Your report today on Sicko was a disgrace. You need to get back on the air tomorrow and correct the many factual errors you made. Then apologize to Michael Moore for your vicious slander about him "fudging" the facts.

I seem to remember some sort of oath about "first do no harm..."

I was just looking at my pay stub.
My health insurance premium is more than twice my Federal Income Tax witholding, ~$265 v. ~$110. More than triple my Social Security witholding at ~$86. My Medicare is $20.
That's one check. I get two checks per month. That doesn't even to begin to add the office visit fees, test fees, other charges from other doctors or specialists, prescription costs, etc.
I'm covering myself and two dependents. One of them turns 22 this year and will be forced off of my policy. My premium won't go down.
I didn't need Michael Moore's "Sicko" to tell me our health care system is stacked for profit. You and have been quite disingenuous and it made me happy to see Mr. Moore call you on it.

I was so mad -- I think I wrote them a epic length novel on the subject: my letter/rant here:

"For the record -- I'm an independent thinker and voter, I enjoy debate, conversation etc and even, occasionally, CNN. Today's report regarding SICKO by your network is symptomatic in that it continues the frustration that many Americans feel today towards the media. Wolf, Anderson, JOURNALISTS everywhere-, I just gotta ask -- where are you?? where is your curiosity? Chutzpah? We are literally on our knees BEGGING you to ASK real/tough questions not only of our pop icons like Moore -- but of our F@##@$%g leaders -- you know, the ones who actually make policy?! Please for the love of Christ, Allah, whoever/whatever, -help us! Help us by looking them in the eye and "keeping them honest" about more than just puff pieces. CNN, I'm sorry, It is not enough to keep telling us America is great -- WE ALREADY BLOODY KNOW THAT -- TELL US HOW WE COULD BE BETTER!!! The truth about healthcare is bleak in this nation -- we have every advantage except the freedom to information about our own life and limb...what the heck are our soldiers fighting for if you WONT OR CAN'T DO YOUR JOB!!! Somebody is full of crap here...I am betting it is CNN, if so I hope Michael Moore continues to hold their feet to the fire on this. CNN is not liberal media, I don't expect Moore to turn it into liberal media but perhaps he could push it a bit in the right direction.

As a former registered nurse I am troubled that our country performs so poorly in addressing the medical needs of a huge segment of it's population. Single payor health care, or some non profit alternative, is needed urgently. I am all for the facts, I just think you could do more to help politicians and the AMA to release their grip on a failing health system causing great harm to the well being of millions of patients. Its time to turn the tide on insurance companies and actually help the patients.
