1. Well, they DID say "most..."
I'd be curious to know whether it would've been "newsworthy" to ABC if Vitter was a "D" :grr:

it would be one helluva story! If they even had a whiff of that back then they would have been all over it.

4. Fuck you, ABC, you fucking lying liars.
<snip>

According to ABC, most of the names just aren't "newsworthy." While reports indicated that ABC would reveal at least two client's names, no new ones were revealed, including the name of the president of a conservative think tank who was alluded to in earlier reports.

"The phone numbers also track back to Georgetown mansions and prominent CEOs, officials at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and lobbyists both Republican and Democratic," ABC's Brian Ross reported.

Ross added, "But as usually is the case in Washington, much of it is dull. There were no members of Congress that we could find in these phone records, no White House officials."

7. World Bank? Oh, please God let it be Wolfowitz!
(Memo to God: have you considered using Caller ID?) (Memo to ABC: have you considered fact-checking? If not, try calling God. He's not using Caller ID at the moment. Wait for the prompt, then press #9.)

15. ABC = republicon toadies, lacking in all honor
The so-called journalists at ABC owe alliegance only to their republicon corporate masters, and show no loyalty to the people of America, or to journalism.

Shame on the lying liars at ABC and their cover ups.

Apparently the DC Madam has posted the list on-line but the server can't handle the traffic.

9. That was the basic drift I got from back in May
That several media types were on the list OR worked for PMA. The names of the "girls" is still protected but all the stories a few months ago mentioned that some of the people involved, that we might recognize, were not just on the demand side of this ifyouknowwhatImeanandIthinkyoudo ;-)

18. Well, I knew the news people were whores
in the figurative sense, but never considered them to be so literally, until now. But it all seems fitting...I'm sure there are more than a couple of starlet reporters who would give their bodies for a few million bucks. And with their bodies go their loyalties.

And this brings the Washington sleaze to a whole new level.

He can say anything bad that happened before today was a "youthful indiscretion" - even if he was 45-50 at the time.

30. More information about Placa from Salon.com
Giuliani's loyalty to an accused priest

A grand jury accused Alan Placa of molestation and his diocese has suspended him, but the presidential candidate continues to employ his lifelong best friend as a consultant.

By Alex Koppelman and Joe Strupp

***

Giuliani employs his childhood friend Monsignor Alan Placa as a consultant at Giuliani Partners despite a 2003 Suffolk County, N.Y., grand jury report that accuses Placa of sexually abusing children, as well as helping cover up the sexual abuse of children by other priests. Placa, who was part of a three-person team that handled allegations of abuse by clergy for the Diocese of Rockville Centre, is referred to as Priest F in the grand jury report. The report summarizes the testimony of multiple alleged victims of Priest F, and then notes, "Ironically, Priest F would later become instrumental in the development of Diocesan policy in response to allegations of sexual abuse of children by priests."

Five years after he was suspended from his duties because of the abuse allegations, Placa is currently listed as "priest in residence" at St. Aloysius Church in Great Neck, N.Y., where close friend Brendan Riordan serves as pastor, and officially lives at the rectory there with Riordan. In addition, Placa co-owns a penthouse apartment in Manhattan with Riordan, the latest in a half-dozen properties the two men have owned in common at various times since the late 1980s. http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2007/06/22/placa/index.html

***

None of the diocesan officials or accused priests are cited in the grand jury's final report by name; the report instead identifies 23 priests by letter, and identifies diocesan officials by the duties they performed. Ultimately, the grand jury determined that "priests working in the Diocese of Rockville Centre committed criminal acts ... These criminal acts included, but were not limited to, Rape, Sodomy, Sexual Abuse, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance." Because the alleged criminal acts had occurred more than five years ago, however, the statute of limitations meant no charges could be filed against any of the accused.
