Senator yields for vote on judge
From Times Wire Reports
July 10, 2007

The Senate confirmed as a federal judge a woman who attended a same-sex commitment ceremony, overwhelmingly rejecting the concerns of a Republican senator running for the White House.

The vote was 83-4 in favor of elevating Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Janet Neff to federal district court.

Neff in 2002 attended a same-sex commitment ceremony for the daughter of longtime neighbors.

Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas last year blocked President Bush's nomination of Neff, citing her attendance at the event. But Brownback, waging an uphill battle for his party's 2008 presidential nomination, yielded to demands to permit a Senate confirmation vote.

2. 'Spose Brownie ever thought that the public toilet he might use
was once possibly used by a homosexual? That a door handle he turns was once possibly turned by a homosexual? That a chair he might sit in at an airport may once have been sat in by a homosexual? Better stay in your house, Sammy. they're all over - oh wait, one of the construction workers who built your house may have been homosexual. Maybe better knock that house down and build another. But be sure there are no homosexuals on the building crew. And be careful, they may lie just to spread their agenda.
There everywhere, Sammy, except Mars.
