Lets take a movement and thank Michael Moore for standing up against the CNN weeasle Wolf Blitzer. Michael was simply honest and awesome,he certainly spanked little Wolfe ass back in to reality..

I can't frickin stand the blowback, kneejerk reacation that some who you'd THINK would be on the left (sane) side seem to have regarding his work. They're idiots who are so edgy and individualistic that they won't even follow trends that are based on logic / reason / improving the world, is what I guess is the source for it. Frickin eeeejits.

which was followed by NBC devoting all of 2 minutes to the concerts on Monday morning during which they said dismissively and deceitfully, "Fifty percent of Americans don't believe in global warming and the attendants only went to hear the music" MM was like far more than Mighty Mouse yesterday.

I've got two funny MM stories. He was speaking at a local university a few years ago and had the audience filling out 3 x 5 cards during a break. I had a child care dilemma and had to split before the end of his presentation. I also was packing info on EVM's & Diebold long before that info was commonly known. So I was close to the stage and I placed the documentation on the stage and a security guard whisked me out of the place for having done so. As if. . .I was threatening MM with a paper cut or something. Sheesh.

I think the security guard worked for the university, not MM. He was a bit of a thug.

The other story is about his film crew. They filmed a dear friend last fall for about 7 hours. She lost her only son in Iraq and got really bad health care in the service. He sustained an injury to his leg in boot camp that was never treated properly or allowed to heal so he gimped through two tours in Iraq before he was KIA. Ahhh. . . his entire platoon was on anti depressants that have the label on them stateside, to not operate heavy machinery on this medication, but is apparently fine to take in the midst of a war zone wielding weaponry.

Anyhow my friend thought the crew was gonna show up for breakfast and had muffins and stuff but they came later so needed lunch.

So my friend recommended a local deli. The driver started walking towards their van to go to the deli. One of the camera dudes said, "Not so fast. We might need some more equipment from the van." I said, "Murphy's law of equipment- If he takes the van you'll need something stored in it. If he leaves it, you won't. I'll take him in my car." So of course, they didn't need anything else from the van.

Well I'm a bit of a camera phobe, not because I'm butt ugly or anything. That's a whole other story but the crew assured me that they only were going to film my friend. So I was greatly relieved.

The driver and I got back with the sandwiches. I started unpacking them on the kitchen table when the driver said, "We're in the shot."

Well how does a camera phobe respond to hearing such a thing. . .? I immediately regressed to a quadruped and dropped to all fours seeking shelter of the kitchen table that had no tablecloth. I sometimes unwittingly channel Lucille Ball.

The crew was absolutely delightful but one of the camera guys kept on making fun of my spazz out film debut. He said it was one of the funniest things he ever caught on camera and pretended that it would definitely make the cut.

Thankfully it didn't.

Nor did my friend's story.

I'll bet MM has enough to make a whole other film from all that he's heard.

His crew couldn't have been kinder with my grieving friend, or funnier with me.

It was a really lovely day despite the tragic reason for which we gathered.

Anyone who hires that caliber of crew has to be a total mensch in my smallish book.

The only good thing I can say about Wolf was that he took it with some openness and dignity.

CNN, like Fox, should be shut down by government order. All of its on-air employees should be fired, deported (Dobbs), and/or arrested, and the earth salted where its headquarters once stood, after the demolitions are completed.

Not one trace of it should remain.

2. Allowing Americans to see just how atrocious the U.S. health care system really is.

3. Allowing Americans to see that a change for the better is possible, i.e., that other countries have a better way of providing health care.

4. Promoting solidarity among the American working people by helping institute a sense of "we" versus "me".

5. Resuscitating, hopefully, a desire for social democracy among Americans.

Lastly, I think SICKO, if shown in other industrialized countries, could also be beneficial to the citizens of those nations. If they see just how inhumane a capitalist health care system can be, maybe conservatives in those countries will think twice before supporting privatization of their own health care systems.

I loved Sicko and am telling everyone I meet to go and see it. I can't wait for it to be available on DVD so I can buy it.

The movie came out on my birthday, but nowhere close to where I could see it, but finally I got my 'birthday wish' yesterday, and my husband and I went to see it. I hope the energy and dialogue keep going. I am telling everyone I know to go see it, I've written to my Senators and Congressman about it, and hope everyone does the same.

I will tell you that by the time you took the 9/11 folks to Cuba, and they were finally cared for by those people we have demonized for years, well, I was crying my eyes out.
In the words of the immortal Bob Dylan "I can't believe we've come this far together, and are still so far apart". Why don't we see the humanity in caring for one another?
