I was a naughty girl at the doctor's office today.
I took my mom to the ophthalmologist for a post-catarac-op check-up. Every time my mom has gone to this doctor, the waiting room is generally filled to the max with senior patients. And, of course, the parking lot is full -- I dropped my mom off at the door while I squeezed into an available space on the side of the building.

As I backed into the parking space I noticed an older lady getting something out of a large pick-up truck with the back end plastered with "freedom" ribbons parked near me. She walked ahead of me into the doctor's waiting room.

After I got settled in my chair, I asked Mom, "Did you hear about David Vitter?"

"Yes!" Mom said.

The ribbon lady kept her head down, looking at a magazine.

"You know," I said, "This type of thing knows no political boundaries, & by the time all the clients are revealed, there's bound to be politicians from both sides exposed. But what gets me is the hypocrisy of those who have been preaching 'family values'."

The ribbon lady's head was still buried into the magazine, but I was pleasantly surprised when an older lady sitting next to her husband chimed in very animatedly, "Yes! And Vitter went after Clinton!" I wish I could have heard everything she said, but she was sitting across the room & she began speaking in a hushed tone, but it was clear that she was ready to vent & she was seizing the opportunity to do so.

At that time, unfortunately, she was called into the doctor's office & she smiled broadly at me as she passed by.

It felt good.

1. Poor ribbon lady
There was no hole she could crawl into and she probably wasn't carrying earplugs so she could avoid hearing something negative about a Republican.

Magazine pages just don't muffle the sound well.

13. She could have done what that FOX "news" anchor did
who stuck her fingers in her ears and started making noise to block out the content of the news. Remember that one?

2. They do it to us all the time with Fox and all in public spaces.
Good for you!! I'd bet most of the doctor's staff would agree, too. :)

9. She was the only one with her head down -- everyone else didn't seem cringed in hearing about it.

I wish so much I could have heard what the lady was saying or that I could have been able to read her lips (she had a magazine held to the side of her face while she talked), but she was comparing Clinton to the hypocrites who went after him.

Congratulations on your "naughtiness"
Well done.

In these simple interactions we may make more progress than in our incessant ranting here.

Hope your mom is well.

5. Are any of the DC whores pregnant?
Vitter is also a Roman Catholic who has condemned others for using birth control, while promoting sex as limited to acts of procreation.
So, did he use a condom, whether through the insistence of the whore, or not?

7. It does feel good to hear others speak up.
When we speak up in public places it gives hope to others.More importantly it helps remove the fear and feelings of alienation brought on by the propaganda mind-fuck being perpetrated upon us by the cabal that has hijacked our country.
The more we speak up the more people will speak up in agreement.Courage is contagious.

11. As animated as she was, I wondered if she had access to the internet.
She seemed to be thrilled to be able to vent.

And, yes, I grab any opportunity to speak out, but this Vitter thing was a golden opportunity. The story is on the front page of today's Times-Picayune. :)

"Why NO, I DON'T HAVE INSURANCE. I LIVE IN GEORGE BUSH'S AMERICA."

cracks the receptionist up every time.
