3. And he's just lying through his teeth, claiming he did go to the UN
and attempted diplomacy, claiming Saddam wouldn't back down, etc. His mind was made up, couldn't give a shit about diplomacy, Saddam offered to let the weapons-inspectors access...:grr: :grr:

15. I remember when he said that shit in 2002--how OBVIOUS it was a lie
--I remember his fake look of "resignation," his "conceern." I remember his outrageous claims that he had "exhausted all avenues"--I'm like, when did that happen?? there had been no mention at all in the news of "talks."

and still the brainless reporter wanks write it all down dutifully, as though it had some kind of substance or something, instead of challenging him on it. Helen Thomas is good, but we need someone to just shout out, you are a fucking goddam LIAR.

6. Wish Helen would have reminded Bush that Saddam allowed inspectors in, Bush yanked them out--even
when the inspectors asked for just 30 more days to finish the job. Why does the press continue to let Bush repeat this lie!

7. Omertá, omertá
An excerpt from an old 'Ndrangheta (Calabrian Mafia) tune - first in the original Calabrian dialect of Italian, then in English:

L' omertá é cumandamentu
Esti leggi saggia e giusta
Cu prestau lu giuramentu
Lu sgarrari assai ci custa

Occhiu tengu ma nun viu
Sugnu surdu e puru mutu
Sacciu i reguli di Diu
Ma restu sempri nu tambutu

Omertá, omertá
Chista é leggi societá
Leggi chi non perduna
A cu faci infamitá

Secrecy is a commandment
It's a law that's just and wise
Whosoever breaks his oath
He must pay - he knows the price

I have eyes, but I see nothing
I am deaf and mute as well
For I know the laws of God
And always keep them to myself

Code of silence, code of silence
It's the law of our society
A law that does not forgive
Those who break their secrecy

17. It means "discretion," "secrecy," and "code of silence"
So yes, feel free to use it as often as you wish. Salud!

9. "I can't look a mother or father of a troop in the eye..." DAMN RIGHT you can't, a-hole.
O.K., the rest of the quote was, "and sent troops into combat not thinking we could meet the objective. I wouldn't DO that!!1" Just as bad.

12. Liar. It is clear he doesn't have an objective.
At least not one he will admit to. This is the worst sin of all in military strategy.

18. Actually, he does.
The only objective is lining the pockets of his corporate donors. That's why he was installed in the first place.

13. Wow. He's plying ALL the phrases: "It's hard work." "Kinder, gentler." "Fair & balanced."
Plus, "At that time..." (leaving out, "At THAT POINT IN time." Now, "It's been HARD."

Now he's blaming the troops. "I remember asking Tommy FRANKS, do you have what it takes to meet the objective. He said, 'Yeah.' And I remember sitting in the Situation Room and asking one after the other of the (generals?) in charge of different aspects, 'Do YOU have what it takes. Do YOU have what it takes.' And the answer from all of them was yes."

So NOTHING is his responsibility (FAULT)!!1
