Sign up to support universal health care.
1. Sign up to support universal health care. Achieving universal coverage will require hundreds of thousands of Americans willing to take action.

2. In the next week, talk to at least three of your friends or family members about this plan, and ask them to sign up as well. If we each talk to just three people in the next seven days, we'll reach millions of people and start a chain reaction that will raise awareness and catalyze action across the nation - a good start.

1. I'd kind of like to know how we're going to pay for it first.
Universal health coverage won't be cheap, and I suspect that the burden of paying for it will fall on the middle class.

3. Nope, not Lou.
I've never even watched Lou Dobbs. All I know about him is what I've read on DU, some good, some bad.

4. We're already paying for it. We pay more for healthcare than any other nation.

Here are the details of Edward's plan:

http://johnedwards.com/r/5731/810535

Kucinich talked about this in 2004 - think of the money thrown down the toilet from advertising, paperwork, etc, etc of private insurance that wouldn't be needed under a universal plan.

Edited for spelling and to add that of course there will still be paperwork, but under one plan, it cuts out a whole lot.

7. And where does it say that Edwards supports what Kucinich talked about?
Kucinich's bill is HR 676 -- Medicare for All.

5. I'd like to read something before I sign, thanks
and I won't endorse any stopgap healthcare plan that leaves for profit insurance companies anywhere in the mix.

Insurance companies are the problem. They can never be part of the solution. They've proven that over and over again.

11. I APOLOGIZE if this looked like an endorsement (I realize it does)
I just got this in my email and was passing it on. I've not had time to read the plan. I am familiar with the plan Kucinich was pushing for in 2004 - here is his link for 2006 (I cannot imagine it's changed much if at all) and I DO endorse it:
