Democrats in Congress should be more afraid of us than they are of Bush
There's a lot more of us, and we are running out of patience. Maybe they're numb to the slow drum of the death tally every day on our front page, but we aren't. And I'm getting tired of the excuses.

We're already a quarter through with this the post '06, pre '08 election period. We are running out of patience.

5. I sincerely hope you mean Cheney will, and you probably should change that
so as not to leave a wrong impression.

4. WAKE UP -- The house passed a bill to withdraw troops today
As to the senate there is only a ONE VOTE dem majority 00 and that includes LIE-BERMAN.

Rudy it is a simple math problem. The REPUGS keep voting in support of BUSH and covering up for him. Blocking all the legislation.

The math is, we need more dems and fewer republicans,

6. But it so much more fun to whine
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 08:05 PM by simskl
and bitch and moan about the Democrats every time the repukes block a bill isn't it?

We need more Dems in 2008, not less. If we concentrated on knocking out a few more wobbly pukes and winning the White House it will be a sweet time indeed.

9. That's just it--if the Democrats keep letting us down, even in the ways they can, there won't be
more Dems in '08. That's my point!

And there are ways we can rally this country without pushing bills through.

13. Rudy do the math -- the Dems are proposing legislation, the Repugs are blocking.
We need to target the Republicans. I write my Republican Senator every week. I am respectful to him. But I lay it all out clearly why he should hold the bush admin accountable, or vote w Dems on certain legislation. He surprised me with a vote the other day.

14. Get used to it and be ready
The republicans will block everything the Democrats do because they can and because it forms the crux of their 2008 strategy. Their goal as far as I can see so far is to do this and try to spin it as a do nothing Congress. The hope is that they will be able to convince enough people that it's the Democrats fault so they don't get slaughtered in 2008.

They don't have a lot of other options. I think our goal has to be to shine a big light on it every time boner and mitch use a procedural maneuver to block a bill. It can work but as long as we do nothing but bitch about nothing getting done it looks like we're agreeing with them

15. It took this fucking long?
They should be introducing and reintroducing it, holding hearings on the lying, torturous, murdering war, and DEFUND THE FUCKING THING.

16. No, they have introduced bills before. And they are holding hearings.
As to defunding, that is probably what it is going to take but I do not think the American public has figured that out yet.

11. We get to see and hear them every day. We know it's a show for us, but how they perform for us
within the framework of the political game still matters a great deal. And I don't think many people are crazy about what they've been seeing.

17. If you get a chance, watch some C-SPAN. It is the Republicans who are behaving disgracefully
Everything they say and do is coordinated -- talking points, votes, etc. They are following the orders of the White House still.

If this congress is "do nothing" it is because of the Republicans.

10. Politicians should always be afraid of the citizenry. It's called democracy.
“Freedom for supporters of the government only, for members of one party only, no matter how big its membership may be is, no freedom at all. Freedom is always freedom for the man who thinks differently. “ Rosa Luxemburg

Unfortunately for them, they may be facing those ends sooner than they planned.
