Bush* will veto anything the Democrats try to accomplish and it takes the same number of votes to overcome a veto as it does Impeachment. All this talk about how there are too many more important things to accomplish. Tell me How. How can they possibly stop the war without first getting rid of their main obsticle? I believe Impeachment will actually be easier than stopping the war. People don't want to "cut n run" or "surrender" but everybody is disgusted with Bush* and Cheney.

1. What they can do is look for a new body of voters - because they have lost the one they had.
Fuck any member of congress who is not for impeachment. I won't vote for them.

3. only if it is a choice between them and a repuke will I
I can't see voting against my better interest 100% as voting re:puke: would be. my state doesn't have much Democratic representation to start with so I'm kinda left out in the cold. When I do write to my senator I get the same old form email in response no matter the topic I ask about. it sucks being a Democrat in a republiCON world

5. But maybe more 'Antiwar" and 'Pro-Impeachment" independents are the answer. I'll vote for them.

What do you think Democrats can accomplish? They won't even address election concerns. Do you trust those voting machines? How do get your concerns across to Congress? What levers do you control to get anything worthwhile accomplished. Remember we should not be afraid of our government, our government should be afraid of us..

11. Once your 'Pro-Impeachment' independents are elected, Bush will be out of office.
I am all for progressive independents when they can win.

OTOH if it ends up splitting the vote, then the PRO BUSH republican wins.

2. anything the democrats need to do needs to follow an impeachment vote in the house
and if he is impeached then the senate needs very much to look at the evidence and when they do they will be compelled to try for a conviction and the removal from office. thats what the dem's need to do imho

6. 18 months
In 18 months, it will all be over. Period.

To move toward impeachment, the House is going to have to drum up support. That takes time. Even if the House could manage sufficient votes for impeachment (which they can't), it would take a long time to draft the articles of impeachment, agree on them, vote on them, etc. Then the Senate would have to get involved, and that would take time. So let's say that all goes well and within 12 months we can have the Senate vote on removal. Whoopee, we got Bush out of office 6 months early! At this late date, it's not worth the effort.

Also, I don't think the House would agree on articles of impeachment. There are too many issues with Bush, and I don't know if they could agree on SPECIFIC high crimes and misdemeanors.

8. It is about accountability and restoring our Constitution
It isn't about just Bush* and Cheney, it is way bigger then those two thugs..Impeachment only takes a simple majority and then comes a trial where America will most assuredly pay attention. Any Republican that failed to vote for removal might as well kiss their high paying job good bye...IMO

9. The "Vote Counters" can't get that through their thick heads.
They think more of their precious mathematics then they do about the Constitution.

12. No, the "VOTE COUNTERS" realize that the pressure need to be on REPUBLICANS to change thier votes.
In the meantime, Dems need to keep introducing anti-war legislation etc.

We have to put pressure on the Repub reps and Senators to vote the right way.
