4 Hate-Crime Beating Teens Get Probation

"LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Four of nine black teenagers convicted in the racially charged beating of three white women on Halloween were sentenced to probation Friday.

Punishment could have ranged up to confinement in a California Youth Authority lockup until age 25. The teens were ordered to serve 250 hours of community service, 60 days house arrest, and take anger management and racial tolerance programs."

That mob beating mentality does not warrant probation. they could have killed those women.

Note: What the cops did to Rodney clearly went overboard, they went above and beyond reasonable force to keep him at bay. But all that didn't make Rodney a total innocent either... As I keep saying, we ALL have to let the past go and start anew. Otherwise there is no brave new world and each side continues to anger the other and shit like what was said in the OP, unjust beatings, or far worse will continue!

And what if the perp said "I hate rich people" instead of "I hate whites". Would he be persecuted as an anti-Semite?!

Most perps of hate crimes get harsh treatment. Those perps are damn lucky, but I doubt they'll ever change their views.

Perhaps these were the 4 throwing lemons or something. The others may still get jail.

where is the punishment enhancement called for by statute? If it had not been found to be a hate crime would they just have lost their recess privledges for a week?

That was no excuse for what they did.
