If your Senator or Representative doesn't have a spine...

LEND HIM/HER YOURS. Do.not.be.silent. Demand, and keep on demanding until they ACT to restore our democratic republic as a nation of laws and not of ONE HUMAN BEING.

We fought a war called the American Revolution because of the actions of ONE King George. Is it going to take another literal revolution to release us from the grip of ANOTHER King George? I hope not. But, if that's what it takes.......

WE THE PEOPLE are the governors of our nation...NOT our Representatives...NOT our Senators...WE THE PEOPLE....

And, if WE THE PEOPLE remain silent, we get the government that we deserve. If WE THE PEOPLE don't do anything more than simply gripe and moan and complain on an internet bulletin board...if WE THE PEOPLE won't HOLD OUR SENATORS AND CONGRESSPERSONS ACCOUNTABLE for their actions, or lack thereof, regardless of which political party is in the majority, then WE THE PEOPLE get the government for which we have asked, and should just SHUT THE FUCK UP!!

WE THE PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER TO END THIS WAR AND REIGN OF TYRRANY!! But, POWER without COURAGE is USELESS.

1. Amusing.
If griping and moaning and complaining on the internet means you need to shut the fuck up, then perhaps you should take your own advice.

2. Amusing....
I said if we do NOTHING MORE than gripe and moan and complain on an internet bulletin board.

If that's ALL that YOU do, then you aren't helping to solve anything.

3. While you are at it --- PRESSURE YOUR REPUBLICAN SENATORS AND REPS TO BREAK RANKS WITH BUSH
I am seeing quite a few Spines on the Dem side.

But I am seeing Republicans continuing to walk lockstep with Karl Rove.
I see coordinated talking points coming from thier mouths.
I see bogus parliamentary challenges during hearings.
I see votes that block terrific legislation that Dems are proposing ex

Webb's legislation was terrific. Republicans destroyed it.

5. I agree...and that's why I edited my post to remove the
word "Democratic" from the subject line.

My Representative in Congress is a DINO named Jim Marshall who has YET to vote with the Democrats on anything significant. My Senators are Republican assholes named Chambliss and Isaakson. I assure you they know who I am and understand what I am doing to get them the hell out of Congress and replaced with someone who will do what their oath requires.

7. I call Arlen Specter's office at least once a week about the war,
the Justice Dept. fiasco, etc.

I call my Bush-butt kissing congressman a little less frequently due to the risk of having a stroke. His staffers are arrogant rude when you dare express an opinion that disagrees with the Republican party line. I've just started sweetly saying, "Gee, I hope you've started looking for a new job. You DO read the polls don't you?"

6. What if they have a spine, and are using it to stand firmly against my opinion?
The other side wants to win, too.

8. Then use your spine,
and stand up to them. The OTHER side is in the MINORITY right now. WE, DEMOCRATS, CONTROL THE AGENDA. We do not even have to bring a funding bill to the floor. We don't have to have a VOTE on ending the war in Iraq. We can end it by refusing to renew the funding, and we can do that by simply REFUSING to allow a VOTE on a funding bill.

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi can end this war right now. The Democrats can hold Harriett Miers in contempt of court right now, and TRY HER THEMSELVES, without sending the matter through the courts. The Democrats can impeach Gonzo and Cheney and Bush RIGHT NOW. There is no need for any more investigations. They have the evidence to bring the charges, right now.

What is lacking is the political courage to do it.

That is my OPINION, which is worth the same as your opinion, both of which put together with $3.25 will buy nothing more than a cup of capuccino.

9. My spine has been standing up to my Congresscritters for decades, thank you very much.
Ron Paul, Phil Gramm, Kay Bailey Hutchison, John Cornyn... I don't even know my current rep's name, since he lives 200 miles away and ran a campaign saying "Vote for me and I'll fight the Democrats harder than my right wing opponent will."

But I've been fighting them for years, and I've been fighting misguided so-called liberals just as long. Those are the ones that say "Vote Democrat, unless the Democrat doesn't cater to my every desire, then attack the Democrats and further empower the Republicans." Where I live, I'd welcome ANY Democrat in Congress over what I have.
