It's not about democracy, it's not about terrorism, it is not about oil. It
is about power. During war time the president has extraordinary powers. He can do things a peace time president cannot do. They can also use fear and patriotism to advance their agenda.

What the neo cons are about is power. They are about pushing their Straussian views on America. If the war ended tomorrow, bush would lose his war time powers.

Expand on this train of thought.

They hit their trifecta, my friend.

Power backed by corporate fascists.

Decimation of the nation's middle class & New Deal/transfer of taxpayer funds to the ruling elite.

Dismantling of the Constitutional rights.

With all of their power, I often wonder whether they'll build ovens to get rid of the unwanted, unwashed slaves or just let them die on the streets.

5. Yes, they needed the war to assume power. 1984ish.
But they also have this idea of empire. Of America being merely the "homeland" and all these tributary states of smiling serfs throwing flowers and bringing wealth to the Great Leader.

The New York Times Magazine article pegged it totally. These people have complete contempt for the reality-based. They live in a rarified atmosphere of spectacular ranches and homes and Bohemian Groves where they tell themselves they are the only real human beings and nobody else's lives are worth spit unless they really know how to shine shoes.

Cute how they used the Nazi playbook for all this. Prescott Bush wasn't the only traitorous American funding those bastards while millions died.
