APB to Howard Dean: If Vitter Resigns, the LA Governor Should Appoint a Democrat.
Edited on Fri Jul-13-07 06:27 PM by David Zephyr
Howard Dean where are you?

We can end Lieberman's extortion of the Senate in one single moment should the Governor of Louisiana appoint a Democrat.

The Republicans have no bargaining chips. They NEED Vitter to resign. Personally, I prefer him to stay on in the Senate making it easier to pick off that seat in ('10 as Redstate Red Herring points out below).

Having Vitter around is a wonderful thing now...

But the GOP and his own shame will probably make him step aside...

And the Governor does not need to choose a Republican. Look at what the GOP has done to New Orleans.

Howard Dean, are you out there?

1. It will depend on if he resigns and what LA law is
It seems to differ as we saw with Wyoming.

6. he probably won't agree to resign without a deal to name a repub
In which case I say, call his bluff and let him stay. He's radioactive -- no repub will want to get near him.

16. You're correct, but the GOP needs him out now.
This story will only get worse and, as I said, I hope he stays in the Senate...diaper and all.
