5. I wouldn't go so far, I haven't researched either of the other two first.

3. And as soon as I know that the other top-tiers don't have similar backing....
... That'll be meaningful to me.

4. I intend to investigate them as well.
I'm only going to take time to investigate Barack Obama and John Edwards, the top tiers, and not anyone else. I just don't want to waste time on folks who probably won't win.

15. Really, I think it would be even worse if I find they're corporate schills too.
I think this bad all by itself, it doesn't need comparison, but I'm going to do it anyway.

Now that I've finally finished re-checking the list for questionable donations, I'm going to go to Barak Obama.

16. For my part, I was more wondering whether this was a standard Clinton-bashing post...
Edited on Sun Jul-15-07 08:58 PM by BlooInBloo
... whether intended or not. Line of thought is as follows:

If the others have similar backing, then the posting of JUST hers is just Clinton-bashing (either by the linked source or the OP).

If not, highlighting it is fair game.

EDIT: Also, if "corporate shill" to you simply means "has accepted money from corporations", then you may as well stop investigating now.

17. Obama's got a ton of corporate donations, I'll post his list soon...
just had a power failure though, so I'm going to have to start all over again. I had 30% of the damn list done, then kaput power. I'm going to be working in a word processor instead of type it in a DU post so I can save it!

6. These aren't even all the big companies, but the reason I posted them...
is that I thought these were the most questionable. If you're interested in seeing other companies check out the source.

Now, I'm off to investigate Barack Obama.

13. Questionable?- we always paid funds to both GOP and Dem-all companies do-it's just the GOP gets more
Edited on Sun Jul-15-07 08:28 PM by papau
By the way - it appears there are some data entry problem at the FEC -

It says "Contributions are taken from the reports of those committees giving contributions" and then shows GOP committees like right to life that in 1999 gave money for ads to dump on Hillary then in 2000 and her election. (the GOP committee did identify the money as used for Clinton GOTV - but that is not quite what they meant!) - rather funny!

But of course most of the site is her filings - and the companies you list are indeed in those filings

Until we get Federal Financing of Federal elections - banning all other contributions - that is the system.

14. Those are committees that opposed her, look further down the list.
As for the corporatist BS, I know it's been practice, but I want people to be aware of it.

7. Someone remind me again.....we're a "democracy", right?
"..a government of the people, by the people, for the people.."?

A pleasant fantasy still thought to be the case by some.

8. There are donations from demcoratic/progressive causes
But I've found they're completely outweighed by these corporate donations, just look at the list yourself.

I had to stop other stuff, and I'm now going through the list again, I found I missed a number of companies the first time around.

You've got it.

I'm going to finish with Hillary soon, and I won't be surprised if the other two front runners on our side are really on the side of big corporations.

19. They are. Look at their statements on Iran. Look at their votes on the big stuff
like The Patriot Act. Iraq. Military funding. The military commisions act. Iran. Telecommunications.

Some may and will vary but never when it makes a difference to the outcome.
