Slaying details emerge

LUMBERTON - Dozens of people gathered outside the home of a slain Lumberton pastor on Saturday as details emerged about his suspected killer.
Cars lined both sides of Singletary Church Road leading up to home of the Rev. Henry Charles Jackson, the 83-year-old former pastor at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Family members declined to comment, but said that they would issue a statement later.
The suspect in Jackson's murder, John Franklin Hester, 27, was captured in Lumberton on Friday after a massive day-long manhunt.
Lawmen believe Hester also is responsible for the murder of a 70-year-old Bladenboro man, an attempted robbery at an Allenton store and a robbery and kidnapping in Bladen County.

In North Carolina, there is a Sonic at exit 19 in Lumberton, and (I think) a Hess station at exit 20 that I somehow missed on my way north.
If I hadn't missed the Hess station in Lumberton, North Carolina, I could have made the entire trip using only Hess gasoline.
What would make this trip much easier would be if Hess would put a station along I-95 in Virgina and in Baltimore.

The service was excellent at every sonic except the one in Lumberton on the way down. They had one guy working the drive-in window and the parking lot all by himself. On the way back north, we stopped at the same Sonic and the place was packed and the service was excellent.
The Sonic in Lumberton, NC (Exit 20) also has a nice play area for the kiddies.
