Diaper-gate latest: Conservative Christian Group asks Vitter to Resign
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Conservative_Christian_group_calls_for_Vitter_0716.html

'Christian Conservatives for Reform' say it's time to change Vitter.

As he remains in seclusion over an admission that he used a Washington escort service, Senator David Vitter (R-LA) is losing the support of his base.

Arguing for "intellectual consistency," the Louisiana-based group 'Christian Conservatives for Reform' have called on Senator Vitter to resign following revelations of his numerous trysts with DC escorts and frequent patronage of brothels.

The Rev. Grant Storms explained that, "when Bill Clinton fell...we said 'resign', when William Jefferson was indicted we said 'resign', now it's one of our people, and we need to be consistent and say, 'David, do the right thing and resign.'"

Vitter's office has said that he will be returning to Washington for votes in the Senate, but did not specify when we would be back. Although a colleague has been quoted as saying he would return as early as Tuesday.

1. Hey, at least this group is being consistent.
Actually, it's rather refreshing and very unlike most conservative groups to apply the same standards to ones on their side of the aisle.

5. A few years back the reverend storms
took a video camera to Southern Decadence, a Gay get together over the labor day weekend. He shot hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of video to prove that homosexuality was decadent. Not to be skeptical but it reads to me that he is only applying "standards" to elected officials, not his kind in general (and I'm one skeptical sumbitch when it comes to his kind.)

7. I've no doubt Boss
That's why I was shocked when he deigned to apply it to anyone at all. But what's with the hours and hours and hours of videotape? Was it really to "prove" something or perhaps for something else?

8. Most likely
used as a training video for the church leaders. And most definitely used for personal consumption.

3. Ugh these people are ridiculous.

They are such hypocrites calling for "intellectual consistency." If that is the case, they had better not stop at Vitters! There are plenty more dishonest, hypocritical rethugs out there. Oh wait, killing people isn't dishonest, robbing the American people isn't dishonest, being beholden to big corps and not the common man is not dishonest, it's only being hypocritical about sex that bothers these people. Ugh!

4. Raises hand in the back row seats....
Um, um.... doesn't showing "intellectual consistency" require that you HAVE an intellect to start with?

Just asking.....
