16. You're kidding, right??
First of all, you do realize that she hasn't won the nomination yet, right? THAT'S when everyone starts talking about running mates.
She can't picking a running mate if she doesn't win the nomination.

Second, you do realize it's JULY, 2007, right??? Half of the people in the US haven't even been paying attention to the race. Get back to us in 6 months. Maybe THEN it would be a better question, though even then it is still premature.

17. Her pick for VP will be telling
If she is the choice of the powers to be she will pick someone that they can trust like Bidden or some other one well entrenched in the Washington crowd.
After all when you make the deal with the devil he requires a backup so that a lone assassin can set things right. (as was the case with JFK who was forced to take LBJ in order to get the nomination)
But that is just me and my cynical view of who actually runs this country.

21. OBAMA. KILLER ticket. IMCPO I prefer a GORE/OBAMA ticket, but if Gore doesn't run
it looks like Hillary is going to win. She will DEFINITELY choose Obama as her running mate. They couldn't lose!

41. Well they could lose...but I suspect tthere will be bad blood between them
by the time of the nominatuion... I aslos suspect that Obama would not want the job, if asked.. He has a mortal lock 2 years later for relection. He is the future hope of the party. He gains little,l maybe even lose a little if he is VP.

The only way he takes it is if he wants to keep it out of the hands of someone who might run against him in 2012 or 2016. But quite honestly, his compettion is likely going to be Elliot Spitzer at that point and SPitzer will not be on the ticket in 2008.

30. She hasn't won any delegates yet, nevermind the nomination.
If she does win the nomination, I bet Tom Vilsack, Wes Clark, Evan Bayh, and Bill Richardson will stay close to their phones.

If the nomination is hard-fought and the delegates are spread across several candidates, there may be pressure to select a "consensus veep" for the ticket to assuage the various constituencies.

It is also possible that the front-loading schedule of primaries will not produce a frontrunner or a nominee-apparent by mid-February, in which case a Gore or Clark or Hart or Cuomo might decide to shake up the recipe and jump in. By the end of February of next year, it is distinctly possible that the delegate count could be so bottle-jammed and confused that no one Democrat can secure the minium number to win in Denver.

Democrats across the country would know that the Denver Convention will begin as a deadlocked convention. Much wheeling and dealing will ensue. But the climate would be enhanced for a step-in by an up-to-then-unannounced candidate.

42. Richardson is the smart choice
Puts Arizona, Colorado and Florida i play.... plus it gives Foreign Policy Gravitas the to ticket and like it or not Hillary has a sredibility Gap she is going to have to overcom.

But a Northern Strategy with Richarson helping in the Southwest and in Florida might be unbeatable....

I still think Obam has a greater shot at a landslide with Richardson than Hillary with a squeaker

43. With our currenting voting system-might as well.
Of course I don't believe we should call them off-instead develop a voting process that is fair and verifiable. With the current state of elections, I believe others besides the voters are selecting the winners.
