Dumb Plain Dealer LTTEs Part DCLXVI, Part 3! "Not one Terr'st attack since 9/11!"
http://www.cleveland.com/letters/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/opinion/1184749312177390.xml&coll=2

I mean, is it BAD enough we got letter writers defending offshoring, defending the war on Iraq, defending our current health care system . . . now they drag out THIS old chestnut? No less than THREE people are pulling the "Bewsh is dewin a GRATE jawb keepin owr countreh sayfe! No terr'st attack since 9/11!" crap (uh, Anthrax anyone? Oh wait, Dems and working stiffs were the victims, and brown people didn't likely do it, so that doesn't count :eyes: .) Read on, and as usual try and hold that breakfast up . . .

. . . One can read this and understand why a quack like Dennis Kucinich keeps getting elected in this city. Greater Cleveland at the top of the list not only for economic poverty, but for intellectual poverty.

Since 9/11, not one terrorist attack has happened on American soil. And yet the section is filled with nothing but letters from Bush haters who have absolutely no ideas and can tell us only what a terrible job George W. Bush has done, how the war money could have been better spent on the black hole of Democratic Party fraud and social decay, which is Cleveland, and how we, not Islamic extremists, are to blame for people dying in Iraq.

These are the same people who will vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose greatest claim to fame is destroying Billy Dale and the White House press corps' lives and futures to profit her friends. And these are the same people who will be the first to whine when their taxes go sky-high to pay for national health care, which will make what we have today look sterling.

No wonder everyone laughs at Cleveland.

George T. Hamilton Cleveland

It gets much . . . MUCH worse . . .

President Bush's 'war on terror' is an abject failure" (Letters, Friday)? Not one attack here in the United States since 9/11 - almost six years. What do you call that? Luck?

If our troops overseas and our international actions are creating terrorists, who created the 9/11 terrorists? We didn't have troops in Afghanistan before al-Qaida struck.

I honestly don't think solving Cleveland's poverty problem makes us safer from terrorists. What, exactly, was the lesson of Sept. 11, 2001?

Mike Powell

Brunswick

Yeah, idiots. You got us. Never mind that the BIGGEST ATTACK EVER HAPPENED ON HIS FUCKING WATCH AND ARGUABLY WITH HIS ADMINISTRATION'S FOREKNOWLEDGE!!!!! ASSHOLES!!

Damn. This much assholiness should not be allowed in one county.

1. "Mr." Hamilton is the exact reason why Cleveland is a joke
It's people like him that think that giving tax breaks to major corporations to come in here and leave when they're just about to start having to pay taxes ... or applaud that the "public school funding" system is unconstitutional, yet votes for politicians who don't want to do anything to actually help public schools (which does raise the value of property, and draws new families into areas) ... and bitches about his taxes because he lives in a good school district when his kids no longer go to the school (why should he have to pay for any more school issues????)

Of course, when pressed for the "terrorist attacks" under Clinton, they have to go into an elaborate explanation as to what attacks happened, which pretty much negates his statement that no attacks happened under Bush since 9/11 ... because there are plenty of terrorist attacks that fit the same standards ...

3. Furthermore, 9/11 remains uninvestigated and unavenged.
3000 people die and our response is to go after Iraq, even though most of the alleged hijackers were from Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Iraq is now roughly 200 times the bloodbath 9/11 was, with our soldiers and their citizens paying the price. Bin Laden remains either free or dead, Al Qaeda is almost at full strength and we're now wasting nearly a billion dollars a DAY on this debacle, which has been proven to be nothing more than a gigantic waste of time and resources.

Meanwhile, WTC attempted bombing number one in 1993 ended in arrests and convictions. No tax-draining war.

 Mr Hamilton. And WAKE UP! :boring:

2. No attacks on US soil? What were the anthrax attacks of 2001? A college prank?
Are they even trying to catch those people anymore?
