I salute my stalwart DU members for watching and reporting on what's
going on in the Senate; they are currently up to thread #19!

I just zipped over there and Lindsay Graham is up. Another salute to your cast-iron stomachs for being able to stand some of the b.s. you must have heard throughout the night.

A toast to you all, and thanks! :toast: :hi:  :toast:

2. Inhofe was rabid.
It was tough to get through him. But Kerry was uplifting.

4. Woke up early in the am and caught HRC. She looked tired.
But, it made me think of something parallel to a previous thought.

I had initially pondered the idea of having political candidates debate after being given truth serum.

It might serve almost as well to make them stay up for 24 hours or more and then have to defend their positions. We might actually get to know what they really think and feel.

Never happen, though.

5. Mary Landreau (sp?) was the highlight for me
but I dozed off at 12:30

She was amazing ... putting up a pick of Osama saying this is who attacked us on 9/11

7. I'll join you in your salute. Mr. BAL is recovering from meningitis
so when I can get sleep, I get it. Having these threads about all the goings-on in Congress is just a wonderful thing.

Can't wait until the House judiciary has some juice as well!

Thanks, DUers! :patriot:

10. This Is What Makes DU Special
I've been watching the marathon on and off since it began...but I've been regularly checking in on the threads here to keep up/catch up.

I'm proud to see all the Democrats standing behind Levin-Reid and how every Repugnican attack or lie has been challenged.

This is a far better use of the Senate's time than the Terri Schaivo marathon!

Support is building to end this fillibuster and the war. Keep it up! Give us our vote!!

11. I hope something comes of this, if only to advertise the rethugs are
stonewalling. They don't care about supporting any troops; that's become obvious.
