My local fishwrap \ bird cage liner just got this
I staid up and watched the debate. And I had only one conclusion at the end of this. The GOP is a party that loves war. First off, all the excuses of what would happen were out of ... the Vietnam War. If we leave next we know the Philippines will fall to Communism. Last time I checked the Philippines is not only free, but these days has a very small US Presence. Oh and the local guerrillas can claim a link to the beginning of the LAST century. There will be genocide. Well, there was but not in Viet man, in Cambodia and interestingly enough we didn't have anything to do with that one. But if there is a genocide in Iraq after we leave, we will have everything to do with it. Regardless, we have destabilized the area, as the Project for a New American Century wanted.

One must ask, who benefits? Not the troops, they are in some cases in their fifth deployment. Certainly not the taxpayer, or the people of Iraq. So who benefits that the GOP is so adamant about keeping this war going? Who benefits, the corporations that have lined their pockets, and for whom business would not be good. Nobody likes to mention this but half of US Forces in country are Mercenaries... and Mercenaries only are responsible to who pays them. That is who benefits. The GOP has put their goals ahead of the nation and has been wrong every step of the way.

The GOP is the party of war and empire.

Sincerely,
