Which Democrats Voted Against Reed-Levin?
I'm fairly sure that I-Lieberman did, but which dems, there had to be some otherwise the numbers don't add up. Was Tim Johnson's a non-vote because of his illness and absence?

3. Harry Reid switched his vote to no
Edited on Wed Jul-18-07 03:35 PM by Redbear
so that he could bring up the vote again if necessary.

Johnson is listed as not voting

So BEFORE Reid changed his vote it was:

Dems 48 yes 0 no 1 not voting
Reps 4 yes 45 no

Lieberman voted no
Sanders voted yes

7. Here's the roll call
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=110&session=1&vote=00252

Out of 49 Democrats, all voted for except Johnson who didn't vote and Reid, who changed his vote to No as a procedural maneuver.

Out of 49 Repubs, all voted yes except for Hagel, Smith and Snowe.

Out of two independents one voted yes (Sanders) and one voted no (Lieberman)

11. Thanks For The Reid Answers

I figured there were 2, and counted Johnson as one of them. I never count on Really A Republic Lieberman to vote with the party he promised to caucus with. Interesting that Nelson and Landrieu voted with the dems this time, it must really be getting bad out in conservative land.

13. Susan Collins voted yes as well
But only because it was safe for her to do so. She knew the cloture vote wouldn't pass, so she voted for it.

12. Actually, NOBODY voted for or against Reed-Levin
It never came to a vote. The vote was on cloture--cutting off debate such that the amendment could come to the floor for an up or down vote.

For that reason, Reid, as majority leader, had to vote against it, an odd procedural tactic that allows it to be brought up again at a later time for consideration.
