by Congress, any bill which asks for accountability on Iraq will be vetoed, and there is no indication from past experience that Congress will refuse funding for the Iraq war. In other words anything the WH doesn't like will be ignored

The Democratic leaders in Congress indicate that impeachment would not serve any purpose, but waste time when they could be doing the people's business.

Do they really believe that they will be able to "do the people's business". Let's hear how they got the minimum wage through, at the cost of no war accountability. A minimum wage that doesn't affect most American, and the one's it does affect are illegals, who are not protected anyway.

Nothing will change for the next 2 years that is something we can be sure of, the Democratic leaders have assured it.

They cannot even reverse the Patriot Act or IWR legislation, which effectively has given ultimate power to the executive branch to ignore Congress

1. I believe they are doing fairly well, considering they need 60 votes.
Additionally, I have five children. Three out of the five will get raises because of the minimum wage. Their wages are based on a certain amount over the minimum wage; so, even though they make more than minimum wage, their hourly rates are going up to reflect the increase in the minimum wage. My family fought in the Revolutionary War; so, none of us are illegal

2. First of all my point was not a slam against illegals.

Second, most places already pay more than minimum wage, the example you state is because of where you children work, and the policy that THEIR company sets, not because of minimum wage of itself. As you stated they make more than minimum wage, and that was my point, most places do pay more than minimum wage, except for illegals where those employers exploit them.

In all honesty, minimum wage before or now is not a livable wage anyway, without some other source of income or assistance.

Everything has gone up in a major way, energy, water, food, etc.

The government can throw out any statistics that they want, how there is no inflation, but reality is that everyday ESSENTIALS are much higher than they were

You and I also differ as to how well Congressional leadership is representing itself
