In the old Watergate Days, this is analagous to the day when we heard that the money could be traced to CREEP, the Committee to ReElect The President.

1. It reminds me of the day
the Senate found out that Nixon had a audio tape system in the Oval Office. All hell broke loose when they found out and it was the beginning of the end for Nixon.

14. I was laid up at home

after having knee surgery during the hearings.

I remember turning on the TV (I use to sleep late) and everyone was in an uproar. When Senator Sam Ervin finally got everyone to calm down, he asked the witness to repeat what he had just said. It was definitely a major holy shit moment.

3. I'm giddy
On the very first day, Libby turns on Cheney and Rove. I thought he'd hang in there and wait for a pardon.

6. That might not be constitutional...
because it might protect the President and the Vice President from possible impeachment. The US Constitution specifically prohibits a Presidential pardon in a case of impeachment.

4. This Is More Like Butterfield revealing the Taping System
And we even have a Rosemary Woods moment with the destroyed memo.

What a backdrop for the State of Denial rant tonight...I will imagine Karl and Crashcart won't be seen shaking hands.

5. Have we not all been waiting for this for a very long time?
At last, we get a to look into the nasty, dark recesses of the Bush Administration. But the good stuff will not come without a fight. I hope Fitzgerald is taking good care of himself, he's got a long road ahead of him.

And thanks to Mr. Fitzgerald for standing firm and doing the right thing. This has got to be a strain on him.
