What's the difference between the American media and Pravda in the Soviet era?
The Russians knew better than to believe in Pravda.

3. The American public has a romantacized idea that the US
Government would not infiltrate US media....

but when there are only 5 mainly convervative owners of most US media...not rocket Science.

I would have to say the monopolization of the US media in such a short time has been more effective than Pravda wouldn't you say?

I think we should call them out as the Facist they are...

whereas the American media is censorship through a mix of lies, omission and obfuscation. A far more elusive and deadly form of censorship.

23. I agree with you.
The American version is much more effective and malicious. It is better at maintaining a veneer of credibility.

9. Precisely
The media is our number one problem. They remain a problem because some Democrats benefit from the bullshit as much as Repulicans do.

11. A lot. For one thing, Pravda was forced to write what it did. Our media just
goes to sleep voluntarily.

12. The Profit Motive
Pravda was motivated by fear of the Gulag.
CorporatePravda is motivated by fear of losing one red cent in profit.

15. I doubt it
They give the appearance of wanting higher profit margins but time and time again have shown they give up profit opportunities to spout mainly right wing talking points. Talk radio is not 90 % conservative because it makes economic sense. If profits were the strongest motive Tuck Carlson would never be on the air.

of a balanced media. One contrarian in a choir of a hundred wingnuts...

With the American Media, Americans are leaning to read between the lies.
