Warning!!!!1 Blocks of cheese connected to wires!
SAN DIEGO -- Lindbergh Field is among four airports named in an intelligence bulletin that warns terrorists may be planning future attacks in the United States.

In the report issued by the Transportation Security Administration, and obtained by NBC News, law enforcement and airport officials are urged to be aware that terrorists "may be" conducting "pre-attack security probes" or "dry-runs" at airports across the country, including San Diego.

According to the bulletin, dated July 20, TSA personnel have confiscated items "resembling improvised explosive device (IED) components." The items included wires, switches, pipes and "dense clay-like substances," and were found not only at Lindbergh Field, but also at Milwaukee, Houston and Baltimore's airports. The finds were described as a "surge in recent suspicious incidents."

According to the TSA, on July 7, a person, either a citizen or foreigner, checked baggage containing two ice packs covered in duct tape at Lindbergh Field. The ice packs contained clay inside them, rather than normal blue gel.

In two of the four incidents, the TSA said blocks of processed cheese were connected to wires and an electrical switch, or the cheese was taped to a bag holding a cell-phone charger.

While the people found carrying the items were not linked to terrorist organizations, the TSA said, "most passengers' explanations for carrying the suspicious items were questionable, and some investigations are still ongoing."

15. "explanations for carrying the suspicious items were questionable"
THIS is the point at which a real news organization would do a little (just a little) probing. WHO was questioned? WHAT were their "explanations"? (I would love to read that..)and who is doing the investigations?

If they can't answer any of these questions, I would call bullshit.

18. nah.. more likely
They are snug in their TSA cubicle thinking up other "tests" for the system. Seriously. I assume that they self-test all the time.

That said, I would REALLY REALLY REALLY like to hear someone's "explanation" for wires in blocks of cheese.

35. Well, the military does - You have to probe to detect weakness, continuously
Many, many decades ago, when I was a young officer, I was going Space-A and the Commander of the MAC terminal asked me to smuggle an inert weapon onto the aircraft. Not being an idiot, I demanded to see ID from the guy and verified with his office that he was the actual Commander of the Terminal.

Then, I smuggled the weapon on the plane, handed it off to a security guy, and probablly got someone fired.

It was dead easy back then, too.

17. MAN ARRESTED FOR SAYING "CHEESE!"
A man was arrested yesterday for saying cheese. He was seeing his family off for vacation and wanted to take a photograph of them standing around their luggage.

He shouted "SAY CHEESE" to his family and snapped a picture just before he was tackled by security agents.

24. According to the TSA, on July 7, a person, either a citizen or foreigner
who was male or female, short or tall, and young or old was responsible for this cheese mutilation.

So either they were terrorists or they weren't. Why are they reporting this as news? Why now? I am truely sick of this war on our common sense.

42. But most importantly, did they disable the smoke detector in the lavatory? That's a felony you know.
Seriously...If the TSA really wanted to make themselves useful, they could actually limit the size of peoples carry ons, and turn them away at security. I don't know how many time I've got stuck on a long flight, and had to cram my laptop underneath the seat in front of me because some self centered jerk has to stuff 2 full sized suitcases in the overhead bin.

This is like an episode of Batman where the Puzzler leaves clues about

Wires and Cheese
Wires and Cheese
What do you do with Wires and Cheese Robin?
You cut cheese.

Obviously the next attack will be suicide bombers igniting their flatus in unison.
Is it a coincidence that the new diet drug Alli (A.K.A. Allah)
Came out this summer.
The side effects for this drug include Gas with oil spotting.
Perfect for in-air immolation.

Those Boffins at the TSA are on to something!
