One of the best reasons for impeachment, in my opinion, is that it offers the best chance for the PEOPLE to find out what's actually been going on...the crimes committed, the lies, the enabling. It was my thought that the Republicans could be drawn out to be shown for what they really are.
But now I wonder. What if the skeletons in the closets are stacked to the ceilings and EVERYBODY has them? What if the real reason it's "off the table" is because very few of our "representatives" can afford for the people to be shown the truth?
Now THERE'S a sobering thought.
If the crimes aren't revealed, if they're allowed to slink back into their holes like after Iran/Contra, we're going to have to do this all over again. And maybe next time they'll be better at it. They're certainly better at it than the last time.
We let them get away this time, there will be a next time, and that time they'll win.
But, by all means, let's just forget about it. Everyone else will. Until it's too late.
I've been watching all of this unfold SINCE Iran/Contra, and I KNEW it would come to this. I wasn't sure of the details, but I knew we hadn't seen the last of those bastards. And we're going to do the same dance again and nothing's going to change.
