Tony Snow Responds To House Contempt Charges:
Edited on Wed Jul-25-07 12:36 PM by Hissyspit
"In our view, this is pathetic," he said, continuing that the charges were about "partisanship," "insults," and "accusations" when Congress and the White House "should be working together."

Via CNN.

UPDATE FROM AP:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070725/ap_on_go_co/prosecutors_contempt

And the White House accused the Democrats of engaging in political theater.

"Now we have a situation where there is an attempt to do something that's never been done in American history, which is to assail the concept of executive privilege which hails back to the administration of George Washington and in particular to use criminal contempt charges against the White House chief of staff and the White House legal counsel," said White House Spokesman Tony Snow.

Snow used two video screens on either side of the White House lectern with images illustrating that the White House has provided documents that, if stacked up, would be twice as high as the White House.

If he didn't work for such an asshole I might feel sorry for Tony Baloney for having the worst job in DC.

That anything other than grabbing your ankles and presenting yourself to the urges of the Whitehouse can be dismissed as "political theater?"

Really no surprise, though. Snow is a corrupt scumbag. His impending death DOES NOT ennoble him.

22. How they possibly get away with this ruse of accusations of partisanship
Edited on Wed Jul-25-07 12:24 PM by stellanoir
when. . .duh. . .we have a two party system (or used to). . .and "political theater". . .when. . .duh. . .they are frigging politicians, is mind boggling. It flies in the face of very nature of our political system.

The degree of shadow projection is utterly stunning.

I wish we could find out how much this "misadministration" has spent on sets and photo ops over the past 6 & 1/2 years.

Has to be a HUGELY exorbitant amount.

Centcom's set, the codpiece, the fake turkey, the NOLA photo op, to say nothing of all the Christ like (not) stage sets with jingoistic slogans sprawled across the stage.

Unbelievable really.

30. Speaking of projection...
...I have noticed, with all that has gone on, what the Republicans accuse the Democrats of doing is a pretty good indication of what the Republicans themselves are actually doing or have in mind to do, from expanding the government's power at the expense of its non-elite citizenry to nonsupport of troops to activities that have the whiff of treason.

All you have to do to divine the Repubicans' strategy is look at what they're accusing everyone else of doing. Pretty handy guide.

Why should Congress feel indebted to have to work with them?

28. He was obviously wearing his White House Projection Secretary hat.
Edited on Wed Jul-25-07 12:52 PM by TahitiNut
An administration that claims their inability to do their job without assuming autocratic powers exceeding those of any President in all of our history is calling their opponents 'pathetic'?? It seems to me that their admission of complete incompetence is far more pathitic.

An administration assuming one-party rule for 6 years calls their opposition "partisans"? That's not merely pots and kettles ... that's projection of the most extreme order.

When a criminal administration calls for Congress and the White House to "be working together," it's like the Mafia claiming that crime families and police should be "working together." They want accomplices, not honesty.

Snowjob is batshit insane.
