Cleveland police issued an Amber alert today after a 6-year-old Westlake girl went missing during a supervised visit with her mother, police said.

The girl, Serena Kaviris, met her mother about 11:15 a.m. at the Cleveland Christian Home on Scranton Road when the child went to get a toy wagon in another room. Her mother, Lithia, went out another door, according to a police report.

Officers are investigating the case as a kidnapping.

The report said a monitor believed the two went to the restroom. But after checking, it became apparent that they were gone.

Police said the child lives on Melibee Drive in Westlake with her aunt, who has emergency custody of the girl. The aunt told police her sister suffers from bipolar disorder and has suicidal tendencies.

The mother being bi-polar--must be bad that they took the kid away. And you can bet this has confused the child--only 6 year old.

The area where she can run spans into Pennsylvania as well as Ohio.
