LifeHammer
Ever since Jessica Savitc drowned in her car that plunged into a river I was always apprehensive about automatic windows that, of course, would be inactivated in a loss of power.

Thus, several years ago, when we spotted the LifeHammer - I think that it was at Brookstone - we got one for each car.

Yesterday after watching the events at the collapsed bridge, I went to make sure that I know where I can find it in the car.

1. I saw a program that simulated a car sinking in a river
That thing was the only thing that worked, but only after the person kept from reacting to the panic of water rushing into the car.
Not a good situation to be in, but at least there is something available. I would like to think that I would be able to keep myself calm enought to find it, but I'm not in any hurry to find out either.

Thanks for posting - you just might save someone's life. :hi:

3. I read a "What Were They Thinking?" type of column that told of . . .
a woman who received one of these as a gift -- and promptly store it in her car's trunk . . . :)
