I say this because the update on the amount we currently spend in Iraq was quoted as 9 Billion.

That's $180,000,000 for my Governor, Ed Rendell. We got some bad ass bridges here in the burgh ;(

3. No one here in Minneapolis had any reason to suspect that bridge
I've seen MUCH worse in Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Chicago. This country better wake up and FIX THIS NOW! Besides the death and destruction, this is an enormous hit to the economy! Imagine losing the bridge at the Ft Pitt tunnel, that's what this is like...

5. I can relate
I heard the MN DOT person say that the assessment of this bridge gave it a "score" of 50 out of 100, which I understood meant that that bridge was on the slate to be "updated"...

I'm ignorant... Are there standards for assessing and deciding what should be done to avoid collapse? Does it differ from state to state? I'm guess it does, because I agree that the burgh has far worse looking bridges. It's a regular joke right along with the poor Interstates and pot holes everywhere.

4. What? And give up slaughtering innocent people? What's in it for Bush?
Edited on Thu Aug-02-07 05:59 PM by Judi Lynn
We'd have to promise to allow Halliburton and the other maggot pestilences to handle all the money, bringing in some slave labor like those people working on the American Embassy in the Green Zone.

It might be do-able if you don't cut out the giant maggot Republican-loving corporations, and allow them to operate without any oversight. That's the way god wants it.

6. Well, we do have one of those organizations here...
...Bechtel is down the road from where I live. Maybe they can carve out some middle east labor and send em to the city of bridges. Much better weather and not nearly as much fascism.

could be created by fixing those bridges? History is going to judge us harshly I'm afraid. We've let our country be fleeced and finagled by a bunch of white collar crooks.......... :(
