There seems to be a minority of people who feel that the threat of terrorism is so great to our freedom that they are willing to burn the Constitution and/or the Bill of Rights in order to preserve the "American way of life".
I myself see the Constitution & the Bill of Rights as ensuring our freedom and the "American way of life", but in the spirit of compromise that is so popular among some of us I believe that I have come up with a way that we can all live peacefully in the vision of what we each believe the United States to be.
For those of you who fear terrorism more than you value the Constitution and/or the Bill of Rights, in exchange for the protections & promises of those two documents, the US government will provide a great big fat bubble of security for you to live in. That's right, a huge city enclosed in a bubble that only people like you will be allowed entry. In your freedom-fried bubble the greatest threat of violence that you will face is daily cavity searches--for security purposes, of course. The 24 hour/day surveilance of course extends into your bathroom as well as your bedroom. No terrorist will get to you!
Of course you will need to be careful not to complain or dissent from the authorities because if you do you will be picked up and held in a gulag for an undetermined amount of time, I'm sure that the authorities will do the right thing. This of course is to ensure the safety of the other freedom-fried bubble dwellers. Habius corpus? You don't need no stinkin' habius corpus--you're free! Yeeehaaw!!
