I blinked and Minnesota is no longer part of the US? Thanks W!
I was hard at work Saturday when my mom called me to inform me that * is an idiot. She had been watching the televised visit of the President at the collapsed I-35 bridge site and told me the last line of his speech was:

"So I'm proud to be with you. Thank you for your leadership. God bless the people of this part of the world. Thank you"

This part of the world? Where did he think he was? Maybe its a good thing he thinks we are out of the US - maybe we will get money to rebuild our roads - lord knows he doesn't spent it domestically.

1. Minnesota, eh?
That doesn't sound like an American name. Are you sure you are part of the US?

Maybe you are Canadian?

3. Maybe its because we have a Muslim Representative
Apparently we are a separate country - remember Virgil Goode's comments:

In a letter released to CNN Wednesday, Goode wrote in part to a constituent, "I do not subscribe to using the Koran in any way. The Muslim representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don't wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran."

Since Ellison is orginially from Detroit, I guess Detroit is also a foreign land....

4. But it is an amazing country, it is.... where people's first instinct is to help!
"We have an amazing country, where people's instinct, first instinct, is to help save life. There's a lot of peoples' first instincts here in the Twin Cities was to save the lives of somebody who was hurting."

Unlike those in, say, Texas, or France (to pick 2 other countries out of the air), where they don't have that instinct, to help save life.

17. OMG - it is agony. The other day he said "On behalf of the citizens of America, ... who are
working as hard as they possibly can to save life and to find life; ..."

:wtf:

It is the plurals v. singulars that he always seems to screw up which makes the sentences just grate on the brain.

9. No, you've got it all wrong...
His handlers have trained him to use that phrase. It is repeated everywhere. Bush can't remember where he is from one minute to the next, so this way he can drink himself silly, and still sound like a "leader".

Saves him from turning to whoever is standing next to him and asking "Where the fuck am I?" We wouldn't want him to be an embarrassment to American citizens, now would we?

10. I believe the phrase is "flyover country"...
...usually attributed to "liberal elites", but as * showed, there's nothing "liberal" about it -- it's just for "the elites" (or as W said, "My base").

It has a less well-known urban counterpart: lookover country. That's where those of us urbanites who can't afford "a penthouse view" live.

19. "... people of this part of the world ..."
March 9, 2001, Lafayette Regional Airport, Lafayette, Louisiana: "Remember, we haven't had an energy policy for a while. And anybody that understands that is the people of this part of the world."

August 24, 2002, New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, New Mexico: "Let me explain my position on trade, and I'll start with something that's dear to the people of this part of the world, and that's agriculture. The good news for America is, we grow enough food to feed ourselves."

August 11, 2003, Inspiration Rock, Summerhaven, Arizona: "Jim Kolbe is with us today, he's the congressman from this area. I asked the county commissioner here, I said, has the response been good? His first, right off, he said: McCain and Kolbe have been incredibly responsive to the people of this part of the world and I want to -- and Kyl, he didn't show up, so he doesn't get any credit."

April 20, 2004, The River Club, New York, New York: "It was a dramatic moment for our country. "I met the lady who runs the food bank here. She's working overtime to make sure people have got something to eat. I want to appreciate all those who are working at the food banks. I asked her, I said, 'Do you have enough food to make sure the good people of this part of the world got something on the table to eat?' She said, 'Absolutely.' It's a matter of wearing protective clothing and taking the right medications - as well as stepping outside and getting sun and fresh air periodically. I got a bit disoriented therre for a moment, but I've had a full recovery.

Five years at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation and six years on DU have given me some elementary experience around hazardous materials. Almost nothing compares to the radioactive waste the spews from the piehole of the Fecal Fuhrer, however.

is a country not a state & therefore the new FISA law will not protect the citizens from warrantless wiretapping. It is all perception. I can't wait to establish diplomatic relations with the U.S. and other countries in the world.

I do hope we'll tighten up our border security, though. There's absolutely no excuse for allowing totalitarian foreign dictators to fly into our airspace and tromp around examining our infrastructure. Heads should roll...
