Poll question: Which Congress is worse: the current Democratic, or the previous Republican?
Edited on Mon Aug-06-07 02:36 PM by BlooInBloo
Or is it too close for you to call?

I'm just curious if DU criticism is serious, or if it's just getting caught up in the disappointment-thing.

EDIT: Changed "was" to "is" in the second option.

I am disappointed in the current crowd of Dems, because they seem to struggle so much
with knowing what the right thing is....they just don't seem to have "it".....my preception is they are fearful and lack back bone.

5. At least with the last Congress, we had hope that electing Democrats would change things.
I feel like the character in Rosemary's baby, when she discovers that the doctor she thought would protect her from the bad guys turns out to be a bad guy too. Nowhere to turn, is how I feel.

13. Does it matter if the result is the same?
Edited on Mon Aug-06-07 02:46 PM by Zodiak Ironfist
I submit that it does not.

Which was worse, Hitler or Stalin?

Which is better, love or freedom?

Is it better to lose one's rights without a whimper to a Republican Congress or is it better to lose one's rights without a whimper by a Democratic one? Which one gets you to the polls?

Honestly, all of this loyalty oath testing for ones "seriousness" is a bit rude after all that has happened lately.

15. The previous Congress (and the one before that and before taht and back to 1994)
These Congresses were obviously worse than the present one because they did nothing good and a great deal of harm.

The previous Congress not only failed to end the war or stop the junta's erosion of civil liberties, but didn't even consider doing such things and actually praised them, while allowing their own to harrass congressional pages and splurge with lobbyists at all night poker parties complete with practitioners of the world's oldest profession.

This Congress, of course, must be deemed more disappointing, since we expect them to do something positive and haven't succeeded. They either haven't tried or haven't tried hard enough or taken it off the table.

19. What about oversight?
I know, I know "it doesn't accomplish anything".. I completely disagree. At the very least it's exposing the GOP for the assholes that they are. I'm very proud of the work our oversight committees are performing, not so proud of everything else.
