15 more months of this shit--- Just shoot me now.
I estimate by November 4, 2008, there will have been 8338 Dem and repub debates, give or take a few.

1. You'd rather the masses based their decision on shitty, self-serving commercials?
Well?

At least those 8338 debates give folks a chance to hear words from the mouths of the candidates.

21. Thing is
I doubt the masses are watching these and will probably still base their decision on 30 second ads and sound bites.

These debates are the audition tapes for the soundbites.

24. The campaign season is too long.
It encourages grandstanding and those very commercials you hate so much. Just because you think that there is no reason for a two-year campaign doesn't mean you want the election decided by commercials. Sometimes too many debates are just as bad as too few. People start to ignore them and think they've heard it all before.

2. What makes you think it will be any different in 2008
Corporatists rule now.

With the wrong candidate, that may not change if the GOper changes to a Dem.

16. I hope a good number of people are doing as I am...

...and holding contributions until a certain date. Though, it might send a more effective signal were we to pick a date. Should it be Jan 1 or election day in Nov?

18. I don't mind the debates, except they are constructed
for talking points. Each debate needs to be over an issue, and each candidate needs more time to discuss their POV, plan, etc.

I'm already sick of the MSM deciding who is going to win, though.

MSM feeding the Beasts? Throwing out Questions like Raw Meat or Bird Seed to get the required "snorks" and "gurgles" and at times a few plaintive squeals for the onlookers?

Isn't this what DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE?

SHAME ON YOU!!!!! SHAME......

Sorry about the bad news.

And they wonder why we drop out.

17. Doesn't matter to me
I am probably with Edwards no matter what happens in the debates, and I certainly do not need to see the Republicans (I skimmed the last transcript anyway).

19. Edwards isn't going to win.
He's a great guy (except for that IWR vote) but,

he's just not going to win. Face it.

He's a long shot and everyone knows it.

20. Here, Here!
I'm glad someone said it. The campaigning season is getting ridiculous. I'd much rather see these people in Washington getting something accomplished.
