L.A. Registrar Worried about Diebold Profit; Holt Deceives in Wake of CA Findings...
Still rolling today (through Oklahoma), but had to stop long enough to write the two following articles. The lies and deceipt from Elections Officials, and now Rep. Rush Holt, must stop! It's about the voters, stupid -- Brad

LA County Registrar, Diebold Cover Girl, Concerned About Profits of Voting Machine Company
Conny McCormack Worried Diebold Won't Make Enough Money off the Voters She is Supposed to Be Working For...

The shameful assault by California Elections Officials on the state's voters in the wake of CA Sos Debra Bowen's correct, yet courageous decision to decertify and then limit the use of Diebold and other vendor's unreliable, hackable touch-screen (DRE) voting machines continues.

Yet Conny McCormack, the Registrar of Voters in the country's largest county, Los Angeles, is concerned about profits for Diebold, according to the LA Daily News yesterday, and to the amazement of the LA Board of Supervisors.

See our coverage (link below) for complete details, and this brochure, featuring Cover Girl Conny, for a clue as to where her allegiances are:

Holt Still Lying to Voters About His Election Reform Bill in Wake of Bowen's CA Decisions
Tells AlterNet That His Legislation Would Require Paper Ballots, But It Doesn't...

"By November 2008, every voter would be given a verifiable paper ballot," Congressman Rush Holt (D-NJ) lies to Steven Rosenfeld at AlterNet today concerning his flawed Election Reform Bill (HR811) which is still pending in Congress.

Despite the comments to Rosenfeld, Holt's legislation does not require a "paper ballot" --- no matter how many times he tries to put lipstick on that pig.

The state of California recently found the very voting systems Holt is pushing to see used across the entire nation to be easily hackable and not in compliance with federal requirements for disabilities voters. The state also found the "paper trail" that Holt's bill is to require for such systems, and which California already uses, cannot stop the tampering of votes found to be so easy on such systems.

Mr. Holt: Your deceptive misuse of the words "paper ballots" is a dog which no longer hunts. Please stop it.

3. That's right, Brad

That Holt bill would have made it so that Diebold could continue in business counting our votes. Bless Ms. Bowen for putting a stop to that foolishness in at least California.

What can we do now? Work to get congress to pass a simple law for the 2008 elections..... a law mandating that for the presidential and congressional elections in 2008, paper ballots are used from sea to shining sea.

Congress has that constitutional right and if we are ever to take back our government, the first step will be through the use of paper ballots.

Sea to shining sea, a paper BALLOT for every vote cast in America.

8. has to be at precinct level otherwise those thugs will "massage" the numbers

In August 2004, former RoV of San Bernardino County admitted that he had

"occasionally had to "massage" the data on election night."

10. At the precinct
Just imagine that as soon as the polls close the ballots are stacked in seperate piles; one democratic and the other the republican.

Let the party reps look through the piles to make sure of the placement and then let the counts begin!

Within minutes the precinct count is done for president and then the senate race count takes place. Then the representative race.

Wouldn't take more than an hour and the results could be posted for all to see.

Beautifully simple!

9. For now, democracy is in a coma
Elections will remain vulnerable until we vote on paper ballots that are counted in full public view. Until that day, we're no different than Stalin's Soviet Union.
