6. 1888?
Edited on Sat Aug-11-07 04:53 PM by johnnie
I think the first one is a bit outdated. But we need to start burning books now!

The fighting cocks one is from 1781

9. Exactly!
These are historical books that have been reprinted. I know people like to hide their heads in the sand, but there were some breeds that were bred to fight. I know it would be nice for some people to burn all the books that show how shitty things were at one time, but to some people it is history and they want to learn.

If people want to use them today to commit illegal acts, then that is their problem, not the books. Typical "liberal" knee-jerk reactions.

11. It wasn't reprinted for "historical" reasons.
And again, it's fucking illegal to sell as is.

13. Exactly
as far as I'm concerned, it's the same as selling a book about how to make a snuff film.

14. It would be interesting to read a book from 1781
...and the history of snuff films from that time.

16. Should we then keep child porn in the Congressional library?
You know, as a historical record?

Or sell it on Amazon for people who appreciate it?

10. A distraction from issues that are actually important.
Edited on Sat Aug-11-07 05:26 PM by fiziwig
Like global climate disintegration, peak oil, energy crises, torture, illegal wire taping, immoral wars, abuse of executive privilege, the destruction of the bill of rights, militant religious fanatics, gay rights.

Frankly, I think we need to focus on HUMAN survival first, and not get distracted by worrying about someone selling copies of a 200-year old book that portrays the violation of some animal's rights. Where are people's perspective any more? My god! If humans and dinosaurs HAD coexisted (which, of course, they didn't) I can see the wacko-liberals, (as opposed to sensible liberals) right after the asteroid collision, ignoring the pressing issues threatening human survival and marching to protect the endangered T-Rex.

Get a grip, for crying out loud!

17. I'm glad you're here
From now on I'll look to you to find out what's important and who's wacko.

But I don't understand one thing - if this issue is not important, why didn't you use your precious time working on one that IS instead of answering this thread? Surely you have better things to do.
